Product Information

Clear, bright tone and easy playing with enough tension to get the most out of your flattop.

Elixirs are the first major innovation in strings in over forty years, and deliver what they promise: great tone and long life no matter what you put them on or how often you play.

Elixir Polyweb Strings for acoustic guitars are covered with an ultra-thin, space-age polymer tube that contacts the string on the tops of the windings only. This leaves the all-important winding-to-winding-to-core space free from the fear of the enemies of tone!

Most players report that Elixir Strings keep sounding great three to five times longer than ordinary strings. Light. Gauges 12-16-24-32-42-53.

At this price, you can afford a handful. Put some in the cart. It's not like you won't use em.

NEW REVIEW - READ THIS REVIEW

I started using these strings when I got my D-15. They sound amazing and last longer then any other string i've ever seen. The tone and the quality of these strings are insane and in this case you definitely get what you pay for. I have tried the martin marquise strings which I will never use again. I thought they sounded pretty bad and didnt hear or see anything special about them. My guitar teacher back home uses them on his cheaper guitars. Also he recommended the d'addarios since I have heard that they are comparable to elixers. I was very dissatisfied with them and took them off of my guitar a few hours after I put them on. I feel that the ease of playability with the elixers makes it easier to play and more fun to play the guitar. They also sound more appealing to me. I think its a no brainer and this is coming from someone who has tried them all.

Not as good as I expected...

I used these strings for about a year or so, and restrung my Epiphone PR-150N/A once after hearing that coated strings lasted so much longer than standard strings. They sounded just as bright and responsive as the D'Addario Phosphor Bronze Custom Lights I had previously used, but after a few months the coating flaked off and the strings discolored significantly. Overall I would have to recommend Cleartones for acoustic coated strings.

Not Very Durable

Have used two sets with my Taylor and both experienced premature breakage. Nice sound, but I won't play out with these anymore. Have also used D'Addario EJ15 and Martin Marquis phosphor bronze without any problems.

I've Been Using These for Years

They have great sound and I love the coating. They last a long time and stay cleaner then regular stings because of the coating. I've never had a problem with these strings breaking and I play hard. I would definitely recommend these strings and I use them on all my guitars.

'Nuff Said

I have been using these strings on my acoustic guitars ever since I first (skeptically) tried a (seemingly over-priced) set. It's been over 10 years. They're all I use. I buy them for friends who've never used them before as gifts. They always comment on how good they sound. Nuff said.
