Best Uses

  • Jammers will love the versatility.

Comments about Electro-Harmonix SYNTH9 Synthesizer Machine Pedal:

It cures my itch for synth sounds. I'm a guitarist at heart but I love me some synth.
I can not say I can use every sound but they are 9 there for inspiration.
It is kind of touch sensitive. Use in beginning of effects chain. Any thing before adds more NOISE!
It also sounds cool with fuzz- distortion or modulation used after them in the chain.

Comments about Electro-Harmonix SYNTH9 Synthesizer Machine Pedal:

I heard and saw the reviews on you tube, I bought the thing. It is a very good pedal. The voicings of the early synth effects are very good.
It is just so much fun. The heck if you never record with it, it is just fun to use. I immediately used it with my Jamman looper and did a pretty good little cover of Eleanor Rigby with the strings settings. It also did a good job with the Moody Blues song Nights in White Satin, again using the strings settings. The Dr. Who theme is the next thing I'm aiming for. All this in the first two days. As you can tell I am an older guitar player. But I believe younger players can find good uses for the pedal also.

Comments about Electro-Harmonix SYNTH9 Synthesizer Machine Pedal:

I'm using this pedal in a church praise and worship band. Be aware the settings are very sensitive (LOUD), but I'm using the number 8 string synth setting with a guitar, and it sounds very nice. Also the cntrl 2 knob can be set to follow in after the guitar chord is strummed, which is fun to work with. Helps if you are proficient with finger style picking, and use a volume pedal.

Not worth the money

Comments about Electro-Harmonix SYNTH9 Synthesizer Machine Pedal:

I saw all the videos on Youtube and decided to give this pedal a try. I was disappointed because most of the synth sounds, sound to much like each other, the only exception was the synth strings. Also for the price, EHX could have added a user memory preset save for each selected synth bank.

Comments about Electro-Harmonix SYNTH9 Synthesizer Machine Pedal:

I tried the Synth 9 after YouTube demos. For rythym I like the synth organs & strings the most. You can blend lightly over heavy with or without your guitar. For wild leads it even has more options & alterations.

Comments about Electro-Harmonix SYNTH9 Synthesizer Machine Pedal:

This is a really cool product. Take some time to experiment with the controls for each of the 9 sounds available. I would have paid $200 for a pedal with just the string module. Tracking isnt perfect but its really good if you play clean and precise.

Comments about Electro-Harmonix SYNTH9 Synthesizer Machine Pedal:

I love this product,,,, I have a two amp set up one dry and one wet with the Synth9 in the wet. With a little delay and a Slow Gear effect from my Boss GT-6 this effect sounds authentic and enables me to get that Symphonic Black Metal sound easily.
