Electro-Harmonix Effects Pedals

Anyone who's a music fan has probably heard Electro-Harmonix guitar effects pedals in action. That goes without saying, because they've been around for more than 40 years and have featured in the guitar work on some of the best-known albums of all time. Founded in 1968, EHX has existed about as long as the effects pedal as we know it... and that's because they created it. In the 1970s, Electro-Harmonix was the first company to pack an effects unit into a stompbox-sized package. When they did that, they laid the foundation for every effects pedal on every stage in the world today. As a matter of fact, some of the early Electro-Harmonix units were so solid that they're still the standard for effects pedals of their kind today. Check out the Memory Man and its many descendants, for instance. From the compact Memory Toy Analog Echo and Chorus to the XO Stereo Memory Man, they're as sought-after today as they were decades ago. Two more great examples are the Electric Mistress Flanger/Chorus, as well as the Hot Tubes Nano Overdrive, a compact version of the original 1970s Hot Tubes pedal. There is one Electro-Harmonix pedal that has staying power above and beyond all others, though, and that's the Big Muff Pi. A pedalboard staple since day one, this effect is as much a part of rock'n'roll as Stratocasters and tour buses. It's branched out into a few versions in the modern EHX lineup, so you can choose from the Nano Big Muff, Classics USA Big Muff Pi, XO Big Muff Pi with Tone Wicker, Germanium 4 Big Muff Pi or even the XO Metal Muff with Top Boost. Few pedals come in so many different versions, and fewer still deserve it as much as the Big Muff Pi - whatever your style and sound, there's a perfect edition of the Muff to suit it. Chances are pretty high that you've already heard plenty about Electro-Harmonix guitar effects pedals, so consider this just one more voice to add to the chorus: yes, they really have earned their incredible reputation. Whether you go for one of the classic units or decide to try something newer or more specialized, you can always expect great results when you've got EHX on your pedalboard.
