    I bought this unit from my local guitar shop after trying it out in the store. Needless to say, it blew my other distortion boxes away in the store, and even more so when I got it home! The Top Boost switch tends to be a little harsh when set to Hi, but is good for that super-bright, EVH style solo sound. When the Top Boost is set to Lo, the pedal unleashes it's fury. It becomes a snarling beast of a pedal that I still cannot get over! Now I have bought this pedal I am going to trade in my other pedals (and probably this one) for a full size Metal Muff. I have tried one of them since I bought this pedal, and it's even better. If you need something compact, that can provide you with your sound anywhere, this is for you, if you want a tone beast that allows you to fully control your sound, get the full Metal Muff.
