Switches volume presets on the fly-go from rhythm to lead, clean to overdrive.

The Electro-Harmonix Nano Signal Pad Guitar Pedal is a passive attenuator that allows you to instantly switch to a different preset volume. It's like your guitar's volume knob with a fully passive and color-free circuit. Leave your amp's volume set high for overdrive, and use the Signal Pad Pedal to lower your level for a clean sound-then switch it off to kick in your amp's natural overdrive. You can also experiment with the Signal Pad anywhere in your effects chain-you'll bring out new tonal combinations from your favorite old pedals.

I recently purchased a Line 6 M13 stompbox modeler for my "small gig rig". The only downside to the M13 is that it does not have a master volume for it's output. So, if you're playing a gig where you can't have your amp cranked (like a church gig or a small club/restaurant), you'll have to keep your amp volume as low as possible. To which your tones get blemished because the amp isn't at that volume level where it "opens up" or "breathes". So, I figured I'd try the Signal Pad. I have it between the M13 and the amp's input. I have the amp volume up (not full, but just nicely into the 'breathing' range), but now I can dial the overall level down per gig with the dial on the Signal pad, and it works GREAT! Only side note: The first Signal Pad GC sent me was definitely in an open package, plus the warranty card and instructions were missing. Which would be no biggie if I had purchased a used one, but not cool since I paid for a new one. Plus, the l.e.d. light on the pedal was not working. BUT, GC sent me a free return shipping label for the broken pedal and immediately sent me a new pedal. So, besides being extremely happy with the pedal, I'm also very happy with GC's taking care of a problem with replacing a broken product. Kudos all around!

I have been searching for this. Tiny Terror users are stoked! No more lugging around a huge volume pedal just for two or three short solos. Perfect! Nano pedal board here I come!

  • Does What it Says it Will Do, May Not Be What You Need

I picked this up for my Fender Excelsior. The Excelsior is a bit of an oddball that breaks up at a little too low of a volume. I got the signal pad so I could access the breakup when I needed to, but be able to clean it up when necessary. It did clean it up a little bit but I definitely felt like it cut the treble a little bit. Bear in mind the Excelsior is a weird amp that definitely does not react like other amps. I compared it with my solid state amp just to see if it has a tonal impact on a pure clean amp and I didn't hear a noticeable tone change. It's a pedal for unique amps but unfortunately it didn't do the trick for mine (my eventual solution is a eminence legend 1518 speaker so if other excelsior users are looking at this for a solution, check out that as an option).
