A deadly duo!
The effects pedal features 2 classic transistor Muff Fuzz effects from '69 are stuffed into one box to give you double the trouble! Using just one gives you a hint of milky distortion. Cascading the second lets you turn your milk into outrageously thick cream. Simple 2-knob operation makes the Electro-Harmonix Double Muff Distortion Pedal easy to dish out the perfect level of fuzz.

sturdy little pedal
The double muff lets you dial in anything from a little over-the-top overdrive to huge gain, similar to (but not exactly) the big muff pi. You can switch between 1 and 2 muff circuits, but the switch isn't exactly convienent for foot-use. The single muff is nicely sensitive to attack, only giving you breakup when you play hard. Kind of clunky pedal for a board, but fine by itself, and very sturdy.

"Gain Distortion Pedal" with some fuzz, realy
Firstly, I must say that I like this pedal, and use it regularly. I got it for cheap, and it kicks the bejesus out of my amps distortion as far as trashy, gnawing distortion goes. The description from from Electro-Harmonix, however, is a total lie. The single muff setting isn't "milky" (whatever that means...), instead pretty much just like volume increasing gain, without any distinct fuzzyness to it at all. With both muffs on, however, it turns into a pre and post gain set up, muff one being post, and two being pre. It's all fairly standard, with conservitivly turned knobs. When they gets turned all the way up, however, there is a new tone, something like overdrive and fuzz mixed together. Unfortunatly, this is just about all the pedal does. Since there are only two knobs and a switch, all the pedal itself can change is it's intensity. The only interesting versitility I can coax out it is in the "heavy" or "jangly" realm, which I can controll with my guitar and amp. All of this said, it is definatly a sturdy pedal, and being modestly priced, well worth it if you just need more distortion.
