This is a classic EHX quality effect pedal. Has a lot of personality and great sound. It is complex to use as all analogic synths, but it is not hard to learn. If you know any wave-form theory, it is really easy. As i read in other reviews, it does cut the sound when signal is too low, but that is necessary to have some control of noise. I solved it using a compressor/limiter before it. Using a delay after the micro synth gives the sound great smoothness. It is pricy, but can be worth it if you are going to use the pedal well. ( i use a fender deluxe, GK RB700 II, EBS compressor, T.C. eletronics analog vintage delay, russian big muff)
So, I've played just about every synth pedal ever made for bass and this is the one I truly find the most useful. The new Markbass pedal has some great sounds, but really cant keep up with the speed and response time of this EHX. I love that all the controls are sliders so that you can make changes on-the-fly. I use this in combination with the Markbass Compressore and MXR Carbon Copy for some really great sounds. When it comes to bass synth products, there is just no substitute for analog. In the future, I thin they could add an expression pedal for the frequency sweep and maybe try to work in some more waveforms (like Moog).
this pedal is awesome for anyone trying to a project like metro station it has tons of noises you can get out of it.
