The DMX Operator Pro is a 2-in-1 stage lighting control board that can function as both an intelligent lighting controller and a PAR can dimmer.
Equipped with a total of 136 DMX channels, the DMX Operator Pro uses 128 of its channels for intelligent lighting control and 8 for PAR can dimming/on/off. Designed to offer the convenience of total lighting control from a single board, the DMX Operator Pro is great for small- to-mid-size theaters, concerts, churches, touring companies, or any stage production where both PAR cans and DMX special effects are used.
The DMX Operator Pro is also ideal for current users of conventional stage lighting who are considering making the technological leap to intelligent DMX effects in the future.
In addition to being a hybrid, the DMX Operator Pro offers many other features designed to make life easy for lighting directors. It is modeled after LSC's extremely popular DMX Operator intelligent lighting controller with PAR can capabilities added.
Like its non-hybrid cousin, the DMX Operator Pro includes a Flash Card backup memory feature. It comes equipped with a compact memory flash card slot on the back. You can back-up and save your programs onto a standard 32-megabyte flash card (not included), then simply upload a favorite program whenever you want to run it. This eliminates the time-consuming hassle of having to re-create programs for each production.
The DMX Operator Pro can also be used to control fog effects, making it even more versatile. It features a fog machine trigger button that is compatible with selected American DJ fog machine models, including the Master Blaster 1000, Stallion, Vapor Flow, Fog Storm 1200, Fog Storm 1700, and Vaporizer.
Other features on the DMX Operator Pro controller include an assignable joystick with manual fine/fast pan/tilt adjustment, a step/mix sequence function that automatically sequences chases; and a fixture group function that allows more than one fixture to be grouped together. There is also a tap sync feature, and a blind function that will automatically override chases on the fly.
As a DMX lighting controller, the DMX Operator Pro can control 8 individual fixtures with 16 DMX channels each. (Fixtures with less than 16 DMX channels can be combined on a single fixture button.) It can handle up to 96 programmable scenes and 8 programmable chases with fade and speed control.
As a PAR can dimmer, the DMX Operator Pro can be used to control on/off/dimming via 8 individual channels. It can handle up to 96 programmable scenes and 6 programmable chases with fade and speed control.
Designed for versatile use, the DMX Operator Pro comes with removable rubber rails, which allow it to be used either as a tabletop or 19" rackmount unit. To meet the needs of stage and touring applications, the controller is also very compact and portable, weighing just 7 lbs. and measuring 7" x 19" x 3.75".

Comments about Elation DMX Operator Pro Controller:
I'm a tech guy specializing in multimedia and I had extensive problems with this unit. First, let me say that this is my second of these units. The first one I bought somewhere else. I received it and it never powered on. I sent that back and got this new unit. Since the first one I had did not work at all, I plugged it in just to see if I would get power. I did. All buttons seemed in good shape and the faders move easily with no play. My first rule of thumb with any unit is not to "just dive in". I find that causes errors and you overlook instructions you would normally need. So I started to read the manual. Not being familiar with dmx, I was at a disadvantage, however, many companies creating manuals take for granted that the reader doesn't have any knowledge of the item or if the concept is not a normal everyday thing, no knowledge of the concept. (like in the case of midi - many companies put an explanation about midi in their paperwork) What struck me about this item is the manual was tremendously unhelpful. For what this unit touts it can do, explanations and step by step training should have been available. It was not. Terms like chase, par scene, scene were bandied about with no explanation as to what they were about. After about an hour of trying to understand and not pressing too many buttons to avoid hurting the unit, I decided to look online for a youtube video. I found one from Elation. I turned on the video and was disgusted to find the same type of uninformative video presentation. While I understood a little more about the buttons and functions, the information wasn't comprehensive enough for understanding my setup. I referred ONLY to moving lights. I have leds that do not move. No info was there about these type of lights (which are common and sold by American DJ - Elation's sister company) I contacted Elation and the representative sent me a dvd they have for using this unit. I was ecstatic that they had one and started to forgive them about the manual (in my mind anyway). I got the dvd several days later. I got myself a cool drink, sat down in front of my computer, put the dvd in and with excitement anticipated getting a full understanding of this great looking unit. To my horror, the dvd was of THE VIDEO THEY HAD ONLINE AT YOUTUBE! Ok, I'd been thru these things before, so I decided I would figure it out by going slowly. No luck. No descriptions on how dmx works and how to get the two units to talk to each other. I gave up and called Elation. Although they are sister companies, Elation reps couldn't answer questions about setting up my American deejay lights with this controller. They transferred me to American deejay. I spoke to at least 3 reps who gave me varying answers on how to set things up and not in a coherent way. Writing notes all the way, I was able to figure out what they were saying by deciphering the "tech speak" and begin to get things running. 3 hours and several calls later, I now know how to run this unit for what I want, but I am sure there are things this unit does that I don't know (and neither do their techs- I discovered this by getting instructions to do things that can't be done by this unit) In conclusion, look around for other units before making this purchase. Ask them for a copy of the manual (usually online) before actually making the purchase. Speak to their tech department to see if they are competent. Good luck!
