Richly hand-tooled Western leatherwork and hand-engraved metalwork are combined in this lavish guitar strap. The leatherwork is meticulously performed by artisans with decades of experience in fine saddlework. The Acorn and Oak Leaf pattern is one that dates back to the 19th century, used to decorate the finest saddles, saddlebags, belts, and holsters. The buckles, loops, and tips are crafted of solid nickel silver, hand-engraved, and finished in sterling. 45" - 51" long. 1-1/2" wide with 3-1/2" wide shoulder pad. The result is a strap worthy of your most cherished instrument.

First, this strap looks much more impressive in reality than in the photos. The tooling is deep, the designs evoke the Old West, Spain, and the medieval period. You can believe this is from an oldtime cowboy's kit or even a knight's sword furnishings. The leather is all-organic and feels and smells like it. The silver plating looks entirely real. Second, in spite of what you'd think from the photo, this strap bears no resemblance to the traditional 1950s-style strap it is based on. It's much thicker and heavier and the silver buckle is truly massive. The downside is the buckle will do a number on your finish if you leave it on the guitar in the case. The leather is very thick and hard, so it's a struggle to get it over the strap buttons - I actually bent a strap-button screw trying to put it on. The leather creaks when you play, like a Western saddle - nice sound, but at the end of the day a distraction for me. Even the stitching is coarse, heavy thread that could mar the finish. So this is a beautiful piece of work, but it's not right for a guitar. The same workmanship with supple leather, smooth thread, and smaller metal parts would be outstanding.
