Comments about El Dorado Engraved Tele Parts Set:
Overall this is a nice looking addition to a telecaster. I installed the kit on my '62 AVRI w/ 3-tone burst, which had previously had the pickguard switched for a b/w/b 3-ply. I didn't care for the original mint/parchment as it didn't really match the body binding, and wanted the El Dorado neck pup cover to "pop" a bit more. Speaking of which...removing the original neck pup cover was an ordeal. If you aren't confident in doing so, take it to a tech! It is very easy to ruin a pup if you aren't very careful. The brass saddles that come with the El Dorado bridge are okay. I had a set of Glendale saddles that I had planned on using and they wouldn't fit through the back of the bridge without widening the holes. The saddles and screws that were stock on the AVRI also wouldn't fit without the widening. So, if you have different saddles and screws you wish to use, be prepared to do some minor drilling. Finally, the actual finish was a bit rough to the touch. It was necessary to very gingerly remove some barbs of metal from the knobs and control plate. I suppose this is understandable due to the hand-crafted nature of the product, but for the price I would have expected a higher attention to detail. In the end, I wanted to jazz (or country) up the look of my Tele. I dig the looks.
