Overview

With two channels and 120 punishing watts of all-tube power, the Egnater Vengeance guitar amp head is sure to breath new life into your playing, your creativity, and your music. Channel 1 takes you from lush, organic cleans to heavy, crunchy rhythm while Channel 2 goes from serious classic-rock overdrive to extreme modern metal. Egnater's signature Tight & Bright voicing switches and a mid cut/boost switch on each channel further customize your tone. Independent reverb on each channel has an innovative "spillover" design, allowing natural decay when switching channels.

The footswitchable secondary master volume pushes solos to harrowing heights. A balanced speaker-emulated output goes directly to the board live or in the studio. The included 6-button footswitch connects via a standard XLR cable, which is easily replaceable. Standard 1/4" jacks for external control of the switching functions provide increased flexibility.

Comments about Egnater Vengeance 120W Tube Guitar Amp Head:

i bought this head after having some solidstate heads, B52 to name one, which was horrible, the other is a randall which i still own and love. listen to some run throughs of this thing on you tube and then was able to play through one in store. fell in love with it from the word go. you can get pretty much any sound you want out of this amp. from super clean to the heaviest of heavy. for the price it has good features like the the micro switches for mid cut and boost, bright and tight switches, etc. the user tube bias is also a plus as i like to change out my own tubes. which is another awesome feature of this head. you can put just about any power tube combo in it that you want and it will take it like a champ. i currently have jj6l6gc's in the 1 and 4 position and jjkt88s in the 2 and 3 positions with all pre amp tubes as high gain jj ecc83s and that makes it that much more of a monster than it already was in the first place. i gig with this amp and it hasnt let me down yet even after two years. no quarrels with this amp whatsoever

    More than impressed!

Comments about Egnater Vengeance 120W Tube Guitar Amp Head:

For the past couple of months I had been looking to replace my 5150 head, which was passed on to someone else, with a 6505+. During the last couple of weeks I had also been considering a Mesa Triple Rectifier. Because I could not up my mind, and could not justify buying both, I hadn't done anything yet. Maybe I was just hoping that one day I would wake up and have an epiphany. I finally went to one of the local GC's the other day content with the decision to pick up the 6505+, as I had always loved the 5150, and saw the Vengeance being put out on the floor. I spent an hour so playing with it and bought it, leaving the Peavey behind with no regrets. After using it for about 3 days now I am still amazed by how much I like this amp. I am playing it though a 1960 cab with Vintage 30's and with high gain settings I feel this thing has got every bit as much grunt on the low end as the 5150 (not 5150 II) did. And the clean channel seems much cleaner to me than the Peavey. I like the fact that with the included footswitch not only can change channels, but you can also engage/disengage the fx loop, cut the mids, toggle reverb on and off and activate a secondary volume setting. One of the best things to me, however, is how quiet it is with high gain settings. With the 5150 I was used to using a noise suppressor or noise gate to quiet things up when I was playing. The Vengeance still hisses some at high settings, but nothing obnoxious. After going around in circles for weeks between the 6505 and Triple Rectifier I couldn't be happier with my decision to get neither.

This is the holy grail of high gain sound!

Comments about Egnater Vengeance 120W Tube Guitar Amp Head:

So i have never written a review in my life. I never felt it to be necessary however this amp has impressed me so much that i had to write my 1st review. 1st let me start of by saying that i currently own a Marshall JVM410, Mesa Dual Rectifier Roadster, Egnater Tourmaster, and Egnater Renegade. This amp kicks all of thier butts hands down! Its like a Mesa on Steriods! There is soo much awesome tone on this thing, its unbelievable. I started playing it for about an hour and was thinking wow this thing has alot of gain.....and then i noticed that i was on the LOW gain setting!!! Then switched it to the high gain setting, Wow just unreal. There are some really cool features on this amp that are unique to any other amps. The Mid cut/boost feature is sweet. You can also change the Mid level boost/cut right from the foot pedal! The look of the amp is beautiful as well. Even though its a high gain amp you can dail in some nice ACDC type sounds as well so it is well rounded. Then you can hit the mid cut switch and scoop the mids and it will give you that exact Mesa sound. Then switch it to boost the mids and it will give you that older metal type sound. The clean channel is outstanding as well. It is such a nice clean sound it almost sounds like a hand wired amp. Probably the best clean i have as well and with the reverb on the footswitch it really adds a nice sound to the clean channel. The volume boost feature is perfect for solos to jump up your volume. The head itself is pretty light compared to my others so i liked that as well. Makes it easy to carry back and forth to practice and gigs. I was going to wait for the Armaggedon but when i found out that the Armaggeddon did not have the volume boost i chose this one and glad it did. Buy this amp, you will love it and it should end your quest for tone once and for all.
