This cab is solid, that is why I gave it 5 stars. You can't beat the Celestion Vintage 30's tone. This cabinet is really heavy - which for me is definately a plus, it just makes it feel that much more solid. I want to get another one to complete my Egnater Tourmaster Stack of Power.

I have owned this cabinet thinking it would be a decent match for my Mesa Mark V head. And while the integrity of the cab is well enough, for not much more you could buy better. The celestions are NOT the ones made in the UK, they are chinese made and don't sound near as rich and full as the UK made ones.Yes, while you can replace speakers, I would just as soon recommend you save that extra bit and go with a Mills Acoustic, Mesa, or Avatar speaker cabinet.I now have a Mesa Rectifier 4x12 and it sounds FAR better than this cab. That being said, for the price, it isn't bad.

Egnater Tourmaster 4-12 slat cabinet

Comments about Egnater Tourmaster Series 412A or 412B 280W 4x12 Guitar Speaker Cabinet:

I bought this cab about 3 weeks ago to set my Egnater Tweaker 88 head on. The other 4-12 cab I was using sounded pretty good, but I wanted a cab with Celestion vintage 30s. I got a great deal on this Egnater cab and couldn't pass it up. Once I pulled it out of the box and hooked my head up to it, it was simply amazing. It's built very sturdy with the birch wood construction and metal corner pieces. The casters are like industrial strength. Very easy to roll anywhere I want to put it. Very easy and trouble free to hook up too. The speaker ohm circuit is fail safe. Like I said, very easy to run. When I really got into to the tone of the vintage 30s, I just really couldn't believe how this brings out the sweet tone of the Tweaker 88 head. The vintage 30s have such great low end, couple with the head, that I had to adjust my EQ. Upped the treble and mids a bit and backed off on the bass. Now my half stack is complete. I've played and owned several heads and combo amps in my search for the right tone. And I, right now, want to let the world now that this Egnater Tourmaster 4-12 slant cabinet is simply the best. Hands down. If you get the chance to play through this same type of set up, take it..... Cleans, overdrive and heavey distortion are right at home with the Egnater tourmaster 4-12 cabinet.

Best cab, Hands down.

Comments about Egnater Tourmaster Series 412A or 412B 280W 4x12 Guitar Speaker Cabinet:

Simply put, this cab is increadible. The V30's pump out a wall of sound that is both crystal clear and intensly powerfull. The coolest feature is the automatic impedence selector. You can literally plug any amp into this cab with zero worries about ohms because it's designed to select the correct load automaticly. It's the most solid cab I've ever owned...almost to a fault. It's a heavy mother but fear not, they've rigged up some shopping cart sized casters for decent mobility. Some people complain about the 2 tone tolex but I find it to be a refreshing change from the standard black look. Engater products are the best on the market, jump on this deal before the price goes through the roof.

Celestions Made In China

By Waveform

from Washington DC

Comments about Egnater Tourmaster Series 412A or 412B 280W 4x12 Guitar Speaker Cabinet:

The Celestions made in Ipswitch, England depicted in the photos above are misrepresented. They are made in China, not England so you need to break them in for at least seven days. After the 6th day of running compressed revolving low frequencies at low levels enough to move air, losen the doping and flex the spiders they're finally starting to warm up. However, right out of the box it was the absolute worst cab I've ever heard and I run a Hiwatt. If they won't warm up and smooth out much more I'm going to replace them. Nonetheless, you can't beat it for the price if you buy it used or on clearance. And the cabinet it rather elegant-looking and very well constructed-- no need to seal the cab however you might want to consider installing oval ports in the back for proper pressure ventillation and a more rounded response because without them, the cab sounds rather flat and a bit lackluster.

Love It

Comments about Egnater Tourmaster Series 412A or 412B 280W 4x12 Guitar Speaker Cabinet:

Bought this new from the store. I love it. So sweet i can really feel my tone. Love the style and gotta love the Vintage 30s!!! I play many styles of music and I can really say this is a versatile cab. Nothing beats this sound for the price. Only thing I would recommend is being able to provide a cab cover for the dust, and dings.

Comments about Egnater Tourmaster Series 412A or 412B 280W 4x12 Guitar Speaker Cabinet:

Several months ago I bought this used along with a Tourmaster 4100. This is the first 4x12 I have owned and I love it. This has a nice deep full sound that I love. I recently bought a Peavey Classic 30 and plugged it into this cab and it instantly sounded 2x better. I'm considering buying the 2x12 so that I have something a little more portable because yes this cab is heavy but worth it.

Best Cab For The Money

By Zack

from Missouri

Comments about Egnater Tourmaster Series 412A or 412B 280W 4x12 Guitar Speaker Cabinet:

If you want a cab that can match well with a variety of amps can do stereo, and has variable impedance, this cab is a great choice. I haven't looked inside to see if "birch construction" means Birch Plywood, but from what I have read it is birch plywood. I play mostly metal and this cab does the chugga chuggas well and has good top end and midrange clarity to boot very good cab, I think It might be slightly better if it had another speaker in it like a g12 century vintage with a g12k, but v30s are a great all a rounder and bring out a lot of detail. my amp has never sounded better or louder. Also my clean channel sound fantastic and almost like an acoustic with my Laney TT100H.

chimey sounding

Comments about Egnater Tourmaster Series 412A or 412B 280W 4x12 Guitar Speaker Cabinet:

I was looking for a 4X12 cab for my plexi clone...I did a side by side sound test tonight...I put a Marshall 1960 lead slant cab and the Egnator tour master 4X12 cab side by side and played them through a JVM Marshal head...The store didn't have a plexi on hand.I was with my brother whom is an active Bass player and helped with me out with an extra set of ears, standing near and far away from me when I played both cabs repeatedly through the JVM head. The out come was I preferred Marshall's sound over the Egnator. The Egnator had a chimy sound and seemed too bright for my taste. Marshall uses G12T drivers, they have a lower sounding edge and better for palm muting...Egnator uses vintage 30 and the difference sparkled in compairing the two...What was noticeable side by side was the briteness...Not the sound I was looking for but suitable for some I'm sure if this is what your looking for.I have to also make the comment that the two tone color on the Egnator cab is kinda strange. If this cab sounded better and I had decided to buy it I had told my brother even before trying it, I would have used black leather dye on the two tone tolex to rid it of the cream color.

Beats anything in this price range

By wash

Comments about Egnater Tourmaster Series 412A or 412B 280W 4x12 Guitar Speaker Cabinet:

I got one of these a few months ago after buying a Peavey valveking head for cheap from a friend of mine. This suits it perfectly, I've tried the head with different cabs and heard many other people run it through different cabs and you just cant get the same sound out of anything else. I sold my distortion pedals because I don't even need them anymore, the distortion channel on the peavey sounds great through this. Yea it is very heavy, going up and down stairs is a hazard. But the shopping cart size caster wheels it comes with come in handy. I also like that I can choose between 16, 8, and 4 ohms.
