  I switched from Marshall to Egnater about three years ago with the purchase of a Renegade head and Tourmaster cabinet. I loved this amp but it was just too powerful for club venues. I was fascinated with the reviews on the Tweaker series so I purchased the Tweaker 40 combo. This is the perfect amp for most venues. It is compact, powerful, and highly versatile. I would recommend this amp for anyone wanting an all-tube amp with all that is needed to create your personal sound with the flick of a switch. Way to go Egnater!!

• Exactly what I wanted

  I am a bass player, but i do play some guitar. For years, i noodled around on small combo amps with less that inspiring sounds. I also do some home recording. I really wanted an amp that could produce more than just one signature sound. This amp can do tha and do it very well. All the sounds it says it can reproduce, it can. I really like the stock speaker. I think it sounds great in this amp. Overall i would say this amp leans to a slightly darker sound of a amp spectrum. Not very dark, but just slightly. Of course, some new tubes can change the character of any amp. I am speaking in is stock format. The lack of reverb might be an issue for some people, but a good pedal in the effects loop will take care of that. I am very satisified with my purchase. Its loud, has great tone, versitile and well made.

  I play blues and rock, have been looking for the right amp for a long time now - and think I finally found it. I have not played it out yet, so the final verdict has to wait until after the next 20 gigs to see if the thing actually lived through the experience. So far I'd say the amp has a beautiful break-up and the sweet tone stays constant throughout the entire volume range, unlike other amps I used that had to be cranked until the windows rattled to produce a good tone. Where most amps have a clean and dirty channel, this one has 2 identical channels that can either be adjusted to be clean/dirty or to sound similar while using different guitars. The next experiment will be to hook up the harmonica mic via an aby switch to use channel 2 for the harp when I don't play guitar to save me from carrying an extra amp - I would like to hear from harp players who tried this amp. And yes, as another poster stated: There is no storage for the power cord & foot switch, and no cover. That's kind of a really dumb thing to do for the smart people who engineered this beautiful amp..... Still, the tone alone is worth the 5 stars, so there. I'd recommend this amp to folks who play anything from BB, John Lee, Jimi, SRV, Almann Bros to ZZ-Top - and I'd definitely recommend it to all the alternative/punk crowds who usually bring Marshall-Plexi's into the neighborhood joints and crank them up to 11. This amp should deliver the tone you're looking for at lower volumes and might save your ears for future use, give it a try. Thanks for reading, have an excellent day.
