A combo amp that offers all the great tones that a pro could ask for.

The Egnater Renegade 212 Tube Guitar Combo Amp is a 2-channel powerhouse at 65W. Two 12" speakers give you the tools to forge your sound and the power to move some serious air whatever the size of your venue. The Renegade amp's Channel 1 produces lush, 3-dimensional clean tones with just a bit of grunt when you dig in. Channel 2 starts with a sweet, bluesy overdrive, but pushing the gain opens the floodgates, unleashing enough thick, harmonically rich distortion to satisfy the most demanding player. Both channels offer an independent 3-band EQ, Egnater's BRIGHT and TIGHT switches and a Wattage Selector switch that lets you choose between an intimate 10W or a wall-shaking 65W. Master Presence and Density knobs let you sculpt the high and low-end response.

At the heart of this Egnater tone machine, you'll find 5 12AX7 preamp tubes and a power section fueled by 2 6L6s and 2 EL34 valves. The Renegade Head features the ground-breaking TUBE MIX function on each channel, allowing you to blend the deep Californian character of the 6L6s with the aggressive British midrange punch of the EL34 tubes. There are independent reverb controls for each channel, dual footswitchable master volumes and a speaker-emulated line out. The included 4-button footswitch controls much more than just channel switching. Use the footswitch to engage the on-board reverb, effects loop and secondary master volume with channel-assigning switches for all 3. Run them on both channels or just the 1 you choose.

The Egnater Renegade 212 Combo Amp is loaded with 12" Celestion Vintage-30 and a 12" Egnater Elite-80 Speaker by Celestion. This heavy-duty cabinet features rugged birch construction and has side handles and detachable casters. Egnater ncludes a heavy-duty cover with the Renegade 212 Tube Guitar Amp.

  • WOW!!!!

As reviewed by David on 7/13/2010

I could not be more pleased with an amp. I have had this amp for 3 weeks now. This amp just feels nice. Everything I play sounds the way I hear it in my head. I love the flexibility of each channel and I've never played an amp that is so responsive to my guitar's controls. The density / presence controls are an effective create the same tone at different volume levels and the main volume 2 is a cool volume boost idea. If you can handle the added weight of the 2x12, get it. The added fullness of the 2nd speaker will bring a smile to your face and a rise in your gym shorts!

  • Incredible deep tone

As reviewed by Bill on 6/6/2010

I have always played through Fender amps (over 30 years) because I love the tube design. When I heard this Egnater amp being played at a local store during the blues competition, I was amazed at the tone. I had never heard of Egnater before, but I took the leap and purchased this amp. I was not dissapointed. I have many amplifiers, but this is now my favorite. The sound is absolutely incredible. It has 2 channels (one for a cleaner sound, one with a higher gain). Each channel can be modified to support either 18w or 65w, and the dual adjustable tube design is awesome. I wish they had amps like this when I first started playing as a kid.

  • The Real Deal Egnaterfield!

As reviewed by EW on 4/2/2011

Alright, I've recently come to terms with the fact that I'm a closet gear junkie. In fact, I would say I spend about as much time researching new products as I do playing my freaking guitar. My wife can attest to that. I've watched every Youtube video, read every review I could find in Internet space, and have personally scrutinized each and every option available. I'm also fortunate to live within short driving distance of several music stores, and I personally prefer GC above all because I've only had good experiences there, and well, they rock! Personal history aside, one thing you have to remember is that no amount of reviews are going to change your personal bias or affinity for a particular brand. People want what they want at the end of the day. Fortunately for me, I have no bias. I've looked at Mesa, Vox, Marshall, Orange, and a number of boutique tube amplifiers. This was going to be my first tube amp purchase, and I didn't want any regrets, nor did I want to spend a small fortune. I can honestly say that in this price range and then some no other 2x12 tube amplifier has impressed me like the Renegade. It looks top notch, the feature set is top notch, and well the sound is yes top notch. Pristine cleans, buttery distortion, and enough tweakable options to give you a vast array of tones. Everything is really well laid out. The tube mix knob takes you from American glam to British bam, and the effects loop works perfectly. I run a Supa-Trem, EHX DMB, and a CAE MXR Wah through it and I've got zero complaints...no need for an overdrive pedal at this point. The speaker blend sounds great, and the four button footswitch is a true asset. The ability to select reverb (which actually sounds surprisingly good), kill the effects loop, and boost with a main 2 is fantastic. The casters and cover are a really nice touch too. My back thanks you Bruce. I've owned mine for roughly three months now, and I relish it each and every opportunity I get. To summarize, I haven't found a better amplifier, with a more thorough feature set, and killer tones in this price range, anywhere. Thank you Bruce for designing a fantastic amp, and thank you GC for making me, yet again, another satisfied customer. Cheers!
