I got this amp about 2 months ago, and so far i have been amazed. After a few days of tweaking around with it, i can achieve almost any tone i want, and thats straight in the amp with no effects! The effects loop that is offered with this model, as with all of egnater's wonderful products, is unique for this size and wattage of amp and i have yet to find another brand or amp that does this. The effects loop works wonders with delay, reverb, compression, etc. The tube mix nob makes the amp worth buying by itself. Awesome concept put to awesome use! I favor the el84's but the 6v6's work equally as well. Volume wise, i see no problem with it. I play small venues to very large outdoor concerts and this amp gets the work done. Even with a single Cab it is plenty loud, and with another there is no doubt. (the cab is pretty beastly as well). I've played through an Original Twin Reverb, Vox AC30's, etc and i believe this amp compares equally in quality and tone. Absolutely amazing piece of equipment everyone should try. If something should happen to it, i'll buy another right away.
just buy it. this is the swiss army knife of amp's. Of course it's marketed for classic rock player's and blues player's. but crank up the watt's and turn the gain up all the way and you get the sweetest sounding crunch. This amp just make you sound alive, and the best part of the disortion is that it has a very natural and organic feel to it. The fricken thing is so amazingly load even when im playing with pther people my amp has never had to go over 12 o clock. and of course the blues and more classic sound is amazing, and the tube knob thing, is so invative. it can do anything just buy it.
This thing is exactly perfect for my situation, I have a home studio, and play small local venues, this amp has many useful tones, I mainly play a Strat and have a Tube Screamer and a CRYBABY on the floor and a Holy Grail in the effects loop....pretty affordible set up sounds great, and tone options out the butt with this amp, when I buy another one and I will, the TS is history, and I'll run a A/B box through the 2 matching cabinents..yeah the cabinet sounds great... all this is built like a tank, and best of all my stuff says it was built in America
