I recently purchased the half-stack version and then added another speaker to complete the full stack. The added speaker gives it a larger sound, more like a 4-12 type sound pressure. You can dial in many different tones and it would be hard to create a bad one. You should read the example settings in the manual because each sound is not always obvious. For example, you could drive the gain high and keep the volume low or drive the volume high and keep the gain low. The best part is a high-quality sound at lower volumes, if needed. I've had great amps that never open up until they are extremely loud. This one can sound as if it was pegged and still be a bedroom level. I overdrive it with an MXR pedal and get the sweetest break-up tone. The tone is very solid and has some depth to it. When you do turn it up it can really move air and fill a room much more than you might expect. It does not have a reverb, I place a delay in the loop instead. I did not like it when I hooked different multi-effect units into it, it really thinned out and became flat. The sound is very good on it's own. Some folks have mentioned that some of the knobs don't make much difference but I would have to disagree, they interact with each other and some can't be heard unless another knob is in the right zone. You can starve the gain, starve the watts, achieve a natural compression, all the old-school tricks of the trade.
wow. a 2x12 is not a full stack...... buy a real rig. hmmmmmm maybe a 4x12, 8x12 if you want a FULL stack. im pretty sure this wont compete with my bassist's real FULL stack, ampeg svt-810e. lololololol
This is the best amp I've owned in my 35 years of playing, bar none. It will cover all styles with ease, and is easily loud enough for live applications. Rest assured, it is loud! I haven't found a bad tone yet, from clean to heavy gain, it does it all. I've had it for 3 months now and I'm still in shock at how amazing it sounds. You just can't go wrong with this amp.
