  This little amp is a beast! 30 W of power with 2 channels. I had the rebel 20 and got his amp for the 2 channel versatility. Lush, pristine cleans to crunchy overdrives. This little guy cant really crank though. Egnater really makes quality products. If your considering it, go test one out and you'll love it!

• Boutique Tone that won't crush your wallet

  This is a superb amp - not just for its price, but a genuinely great amp. The feature set is a bit unreal. Each of the two channels has its own EQ and gain controls and each is adjustable as to output wattage between 1 and 30 watts. This doesn't affectthe volume (and this pup is loud) as much s it does the headroom of the channel, i.e., set the output control to 30 W on the clean channel and it is pristine - bring the power down some and you get mild, overdriven-Fender kind of breakup. The overdrive channel probably will not give you a modern metal tone, but just about anything else is available. Separate reverb controls for each channel as well. Finally, the amp has two pairs of output tubes, 6V6 and EL84. There is a front panel pot that permits one to blend these two pairs of tubes so that you can go all 6V6 or all EL84 or somewhere in between. Each turn of the pot has a noticeable impact on the tone, as do the Bright and Tight switches. The tones are amazing. If you are looking for a great sounding, responsive amp with enough power for a medium size club, give this offering from Egnater a listen.

• Little Amp, Big Tone!

  Pros: * This amp has great tone! Clean, dirty and distorted all sound great. The tones are so pure that they really bring out the character of each guitar you plug into it. * Don?t let the 30 watts fool you, this thing is loud! I haven?t been able to dime this thing at a gig yet. * The tube mix knob lets you blend power tubes which is a very cool feature. The EL84 side is great for humbucker pickups to give you that british growl. The 6V6 side sounds great with single coils pickups, especially on the clean channel. * Wattage knob allows you to dial in 1-30 watts of power. Don?t be mislead to think this works as an attenuator because it doesn?t. It?s still very loud even at 1 watt. It works by lowering the headroom to give you more power tube saturation at a lower volume. Great if you are playing a small gig where you can?t dime the volume. Just turn down the wattage until you get that fuzz and feel you are looking for. *Tight and bright switches for tone shaping. Use bright switch on the clean channel for added sparkle. Use the tight switch on the neck pickup to roll off any flubby low end. * The onboard digital reverb is nice. Not as good as spring reverb, but it will do. It also has spill over so when you switch channels the reverb gradually decays instead of getting cut off. * It?s lightweight and very easy to transport. For rehearsals I take the head and 1 cab, for gigs I bring a 2nd cab. * Compared to the rebel 30 combo, the low end response is much better through a head and cabinet which gives it a bigger sound in my opinion. Cons: * There have been issues with tubes going bad and unfortunately I had the same experience. Initially, I bought the combo version and had to take it back twice because of faulty tubes. I decided to upgrade to the head version and haven?t had any problems with it since. I?m much happier with the head than the combo. * The reverb knobs are located on the rear panel and are difficult to adjust. * It would have been nice to have a Tube Mix knob for each channel. * The silent record doesn?t sound good in my opinion. Just stick a mic in front of it. Summary: I?ve owned this amp for over a year now and it still continues to impress me. I?ve used it in a variety of live settings and it has performed very well. If you are concerned about faulty tubes, don?t let it keep from experiencing this great amp. Just put some good tubes in it. I recently recorded in the studio with the Rebel 30 on a couple songs for a local artist in Nashville. So check out the songs and listen to the Rebel 30 for yourself.
