I know the money may seem tall. But the sound is worth the dollars. You need to have a friend help carry the cabinet because it must be the heaviest cab made. This amp has tons of tone. All three channels and not just an Eddie sound clone. This is serious sound for any type of musical interest. If you have the previous 5150 amp sell it on ebay. This delivers everything the previous amp did at a controlable volume. Throw away the hot plate, plug staight in and let it rip. I was amazed at how clean the amp is considering the size and power. Don't wait order it now.
I have finally found the tone I was searching for. Finding an old Marshall was impossible, but this is that and more. Channel 1 is a Great Fender clean, Channel 2 is an amazing Plexi like tone and the 3rd channel goes above and beyond any other high gain channel that I have ever heard(my Mesa is collecting dust) It has a ridiculous amount of gain but every note stays very clean and dynamic. It also has tons of sustain. This is without a doubt the best sounding amp I have ever owned/heard. Sure, it does Eddie's sound, but it does everything else too.
I am a proud owner of this amp - the half stack! This amp is sweet and plenty loud, and sounds great even at lower volume levels. I test drove this amp playing my own music, and I was able to dial in "my" tone as well as Eddie's. This amp is very versatile. There are no useless knobs on this amp. The gain and EQ knobs are responsive to where you set them, so you have total control over your tone from channel to channel. This amp has a great clean channel that can crunch up when pushed, a warm, round 6L6 "Plexi-like" crunch channel and a sweet high gain channel. The great thing about the high gain channel is that it doesn't muddy up at all - all of the notes are very clear! NO flabby bass or biting treble! Just sweet tone and singing sustain. Try one out for yourself!!!
