Comments about ESP LTD Viper-10 Electric Guitar:

I was disappointed that there was not a review so I felt I should write one. I first purchased the M17 as my intro to ESP/LTD and loved it. Unfortunately I just didn't want to reinvent myself on 7 string. I love playing 6 (30+years) and just like to jam at home so I returned the 7, just because the body of music for 7 string is not there like it is for 6, so I bought the M10 which blew me a away. Great metal tone!!! And it handled drop tunings as well. That being said I wanted another just for a dedicated standard tuning but was unavailable so I went with this and I'm glad I did. Same pickups as the M10 and almost identical stone. Super crunchy and comlfortable to play. The low E buzzed just a bit but with the tune-o-matic style bridge it was fixed with 1/4 turn of a flathead screwdriver. And it came with a soft case ... something I was not expecting. So just buy it and you'll be very happy.

Comments about ESP LTD Viper-10 Electric Guitar:

Never thought I would buy a guitar at this price but with a guaranty figured it was worth a shot. From the first practice, I have been getting compliments from my bandmates. Solid sound, stays in tune and gives me that nice early 60's reverb slap sound I am looking for. So Far I Can't find any negatives.

PICKED THIS UP IN A SECOND HAND STORE AND WAS PLEASANTLY SUPRISED! I'M NOT GOING TO GO ON AND ON ABOUT THIS GUITAR BUT THIS IS A METAL PLAYERS DREAM! THIS IS A VERY SOLID AND SOMEWHAT HEAVY GUITAR, YOU KNOW WHEN SOMETHING FEELS GREAT IN YOUR HANDS AND SOUNDS GREAT COMING OUT OF THE AMP. OH BY THE WAY STAY AWAY FROM THE DEAN Z X, I WAS VERY DISSAPOINTED WITH THE QUALITY.

I've had this for a year and the jack is broken and it does not have a great sound... I bought this as an "improvement" to another one I had... It was not an improvement.

Comments about ESP LTD Viper-10 Electric Guitar:

I bought one for my grandson. After some minor set-up, I took it to the gig for a test run. I am not exagerating when I say this guitar chewed up my bandmate's 800 dollar Gibson Les Paul Studio. Amazing guitar for the price! So I ordered another one for me. I have been a pro for over 30 years and if it's good enough for me, it's good enough for the beginner on your list. Nicely done ESP!

            Decent Student Guitar

            By BooDaddy71

            from Dixie

Comments about ESP LTD Viper-10 Electric Guitar:

The build quality is good. The bolt-on neck is solid, the frets were a little rough but not sharp, the hardware was solid. The electronics are decent but will have to be replaced within a year if played regularly. The tuning pegs are really good for a guitar in this price range. The frets feel like a medium jumbo, not the extra jumbo on their higher priced guitars. The pickups are decent - good for a beginner, but those who have been playing a while will probably want to change them. The neck pickup sounded pretty good, though. It was easy to set the truss rod and intonate. The neck is thick like a Gibson neck, not like other ESP/LTD necks.I set this up for a student and I can really say it's solid for the price. The bolt-on neck is really decent, the guitar resonated and sustained well after adjusting the pickup height. The frets really needed to be polished, but for working on chords it's no big deal. A really good beginner guitar and, with some spit and polish, wouold make a decent practice or backup guitar.
