Great Eight String Guitar

By Jeremy McIntosh

from Loves Park, IL

Let me start off by saying that this is my very first eight string guitar I've ever owned, and I love it. I absolutely love the feel of this guitar. I didn't want to buy an eight string guitar, with an overly thick neck or an extended baritone scale, so I bought it because it is a standard scale. The neck feels superb, and even though it is a pretty wide neck, it's still on the slim side, considering that it also has a Thin U Neck Contour. And even though its a bolt on neck, it doesn't have a so called "Baseball Neck." Tuning and stability is top notch. In my opinion, I think the two lower strings were not as stable as the others because it came strung with lighter gauge strings, But with heavier gauges they should be just fine. The way the pickups are placed, is a little bit different. It only has a middle and a bridge pickup, and comes with a three way selector switch. This is to retain muddiness from the lower strings. This guitar comes with stock ESP Designed Active Pickups. These pickups are pretty nice sounding and have a very natural sounding tone with lots of headroom. This guitar has amazing quality and reliability, and is built like a tank. Overall this a great guitar, for someone who is looking to get into playing eight string guitar, or even a new instrument. For the price and quality of this instrument, you will not find a better deal. ESP is the way to go.
