Comments about ESP LTD Pancho Tomaselli Electric Bass:

First the good, it looks amazing, pictures do not do it justice, a real, real beautiful instrument. The pickups, Aggie's...'nuff said, the preamp, Aggie...'nuff said, the can get anything you want out of this bass, I actually prefer the revers P pickup config as you get more mids out of your low strings and more bass out of your high strings.
The bad...super scratchy pickup pan pot, cant seem to get it to not be scratchy, no matter how I blow it out, its just a scratchy pot. No tool clearly says on the outside of the box "TOOL KIT ENCLOSED" and it is indeed checked off by "JS" tool kit, is this an oversight? I don't know, is it a deal breaker, no but if it is supposed to come with one then send it, if it isn't then don't check it off and sign it. Would I recommend this bass...yes, it is a keeper. Craftsmanship is as good as any MIM Fender and almost right up there with MIJ and MIA, just a few small misses. Would love it if ESP actually saw this review and then reached out for me to get me a tool kit and fix my scratchy pot ;-)

Comments about ESP LTD Pancho Tomaselli Electric Bass:

I was looking for a Bass that was different from the run of the mill PJ Bass and this LTD delivered!

As stated in a previous review the pick up blend pot is a bit scratchy sounding but that seems to be going away with use. The split pickups in this Bass are very strong so a great overdrive tone is easily available, the Bridge pick up is very mellow and clean, between the two you will find the tone you are seeking.

The fret board is a fairly flat 13.75" radius which I was looking for, the neck is thin, it plays very nice.
Over all the Bass is light and balanced, so it shouldn't be a shoulder killer...I haven't played standing a lot yet so I can not speak to neck dive yet but I suspect it wont be an issue.

Fit and finish was OK, there was some roughness on the back of the neck at first, but that is going away with use, and you can feel the joint of ebony to the maple of the neck, but this is getting nit picky. The finish on the body is perfect, the Bass looks black in low light, but when it is under the lights it shines in the blue/black, combined with the brushed aluminum pick guard this bass is going to flashy on stage.

Overall I am very happy with this Bass.....get one, love it and rock out!
