It's incredible the sound that you can get for $199, the guitar is made out of basswood with a maple neck and rosewood finger board, the pickups are lh 107 that sound just like the lh50 that comes on the LTD's 10 series to 100 series, I own a LTD V 50 for $250 and I got impressed to find out that the m17 sounds all the way exactly as the v50 which I was looking for cuz I had my v50 tuned on B2 which is the 7 string tuning so I got really happy whit it, There's just some things you need to know... First: every LTD guitar from the series 10 to 100 ($149-$299) come somehow pre adjusted but not perfectly, so they'll require to adjust a little the action, the bridge depending on your type of playing, shortening or making longer the strings in order to get the accurate note on every fret, once adjusted properly the guitar sounds amazing, better than the sound you get for $199, and second: from the series 300 above like 1000's ($349-$899+) the guitars are gona be adjusted unless that the weather ruins the adjustment (way to hot or cold while shipping). I play progressive metal and I own an ion guitar, behringer guitar, an Ibanez rx40, ltd v50 and m17, I require 5 different guitars cuz I play songs on 5 different tunes, E,D, drop D, etc... And to be honest no guitar matches my style but ESP, my team it's gonna be: m17, v50, ex50, mh100qm stb, ec1000vb (for the beginning) and then improved onto ec1000,mh447, v401, ex401, m1000, hope this helps you with this buy and future ones

So I bought this guitar about a year ago and just now decided to make a quick review for it. It looks and feels great! There is just one problem. The low B string. It is impossible to tune. I don't know if this is a problem with just my guitar or all of them but the bottom string is just a pain to set up. I will tune it to standard but when I play the string is too loose and it bends to another tuning just through playing it. Please note that I do not have a lot of experience with extended range guitars and that this could be my fault. But besides that, the guitar feels and even sounds amazing... Just not the bottom string.

Comments about ESP LTD M-17 7-String Electric Guitar:

This guitar is an amazing instrument. It plays great and I've set it up to my preference which was a breeze. If it cost a hundred bucks more it would still be a bargain. It can do everything you ask of it.

Comments about ESP LTD M-17 7-String Electric Guitar:

This guitar is one of the best 7 strings I have put my hands on. The XJ(Extra Jumbo) frets on it make it very easy and comfortable to play and the price is one of the best things about this guitar as well. The neck profile on this guitar is VERY comfortable and allows for fast playing. This guitar is one of the best 7 string guitars you can get for the price as well.I felt as if I was expanding my metal music taste and wanted to purchase a 7 string. Before I played the ESP LTD M17 guitar at my local guitar center, I tried playing some Ibanez 7 string guitars for a bit, they sounded great and felt comfortable don't get me wrong Ibanez makes great guitars, but the neck profile was very uncomfortable and it stuck out a little bit. Then when I played this ESP LTD M17 7 string guitar, It was one of the most comfortable 7 string guitars that I have played in my life. The action was perfect and the tone and feel was superb and the reversed headstock makes it look more metal in my opinion. If you are looking for a good 7 string guitar, with good feel and good tone, take this one into consideration. I also chose the satin black over the regular black because the satin will start to wear after a while and it gives the guitar character and shows what type of player you are as well.

Comments about ESP LTD M-17 7-String Electric Guitar:

I wanted to enter the world of the 7-string. I played the equivalent Ibanez model, but it was a little too buzzy for me. Maybe it was just that particular guitar. But this one has no problems.

        Great Guitar

        By Preston

        from Plano TX

Comments about ESP LTD M-17 7-String Electric Guitar:

First off, this is a beautiful guitar. Aesthetics are amazing, and the quality is even better. Fast, smooth neck (I usually take sandpaper to my necks for faster movement but didnt with this one!), great tones, very little to no buzz, and extremely versatile. It is technically a metal/djent/metalcore guitar, but it gives some beautiful clean tones as well. The neck is extremely big so I wouldn't recommend it to anyone with smaller hands, but me being a 6' bassist and pianist, I dont really mind. Over all, great guitar and I have no complaints.

        Amazing guitar for the price

        By Matthew Ziska

        from Fayetteville, NC

Comments about ESP LTD M-17 7-String Electric Guitar:

I bought this as my first 7 string guitar, and for the price, it was the best decision I've ever made for buying a guitar. The construction is solid so far, not problems with intonation at all and it stays in tune incredibly well. It's a great guitar for the average metal player. The lower end is very solid, but the high end lacks when you play on a higher gain setting but that is easily fixable by changing your EQ. I would recommend this guitar to any metal-head on a budget

just OK for the cheap price to learn 7 string and reverse headstock. Seems to play louder then my Fenders and strings vibrate more especially 6 and 7.
