To commemorate Kirk Hammett' twenty five year collaboration with ESP they're proudly introducing the LTD KH-25, a limited-edition instrument for players and collectors alike.
The ESP LTD KH-25 Kirk Hammett Signature Guitar is perfect for lightning fast leads. With the KH body style and Kirk's trademark skull-and-crossbones inlays, this ESP guitar steps up with an alder body, rock-solid maple bolt-on construction, a rosewood fingerboard, ESP ALH-200 active neck and bridge humbuckers, and a Floyd Rose Special locking tremolo bridge. Extra-jumbo frets. Black hardware. Individual neck and bridge volume control, master tone control, and a 3-way pickup selector round out this anniversary shred machine.
Plus, this model features "Caution: Hot" and "Kirk's Guitar" stickers, and it's been meticulously beaten and battered to mirror every ding and scratch on Kirk's actual guitar.

For less than $600, I bought my first guitar in over 12 years. I own a black Ibanez GSA20, which puts this KH-25 in the same color and body style as that one (twin humbuckers, bolt-neck, etc). I've always been a fan of Metallica, even though in the last ten or fifteen years I haven't been overly impressed with their musical style. However, Kirk is still one of my favorite guitarists. Say what you want about his style, but he's a great player and very talented. This distressed anniversary edition guitar looks awesome and plays very well. It lacks some features of expensive guitars, but the pickups are great for the kind of music I play. I've had it for over a month now and there's been some adjustments needed due to the weather here (it's humid in Pittsburgh) and such, but overall the quality is great. I mean, it's ESP, and just because it's LTD (the less expensive wing of ESP) doesn't mean it's a bad guitar. My dream is to get a Gibson Les Paul someday, but until then, I've got a great guitar to learn on and hone my skills.
