5.0

5 stars for what it is

By Richard Kelley

from gainesville, fl

I am a 20+ year experienced musician, but only a 1+ year experienced guitar player. This guitar was my first purchase a little over a year ago. When I went to purchase my first guitar, I said, "as a musician, I know there is a difference between student/consumer grade and a quality instrument. I don't want a student/consumer grade instrument. I want the cheapest quality guitar so I can learn without learning I hate the instrument I am playing." The H-101-FM was what I was directed to. The sales person was very knowledgeable about the ESP story and said this was the bottom end of respectable quality. There was a Cort electric that he also suggested, but I liked the looks of the ESP, so I made my choice. The only change I have made to the instrument was to get D'Addario 11's put on it. The 10's that it came with were great. I did not replace them because they were not good, I just wanted a heavier string to be closer to feel of my acoustic. Features: no frills electric. Quality & Reliability: Rock solid consistency, it is by no means the best guitar I have played. It has a medium height action that I like. The look and feel is still just as great as the day I bought it. At one year, I am still 100% satisfied with my initial investment and make the same purchase today if you gave me back my money and let me purchase a practice electric today.

alot better then i thought.

By Edward Tapia

from baker city oregon

so i was kindof skeptical when it came to buying this since ive hear a bit of bad things about it saying its really just horrible quality, but i would have to disagree.. its really an awesome guitar, very nice finish, the stock pickups are pretty good. and you can play almost anything with it, i would recomend this to anyone.

Unbeatable Quality at this price

By Morse

from arroyo grande, ca

The guitar is an extreme deal. The finish is perfect, mega sustain with the string through body design. The pickups were the biggest surprise. Really high output but crystal clear when you want it. Higher than my hot rails fender? The pickups seem like an effect in themselves. Very impressed to say the least and will buy another ESP down the line. A+++

Def Worth It!

By Gary S.

from Richmond, ky

WOW! Let me just say, this guitar is stunning. The finish, the size, the action everything. I got this a few weeks ago and I play it more than my jackson. I even tuned it down to Drop C and it still feels and sounds amazing. It is an amazing versatile guitar. My only complaint is that the picks are company, and are as responsive as higher up pickups. But, definitely and amazing guitar. I love mine and will never sell it.

It was okay...

By Calum

from Canada

So i went into the store, and played this guitar for about 20 mins. At first it seemed amazing, and much better than my guitar; it sounded powerful, bright, and punchy. it played pretty nice, looked amazing and was nicely constructed. I bought it, and took it back the next week. The fret buzz is awful, and theres no excuse because the action is really high too. It's also quite awkward to play, whereas my Epiphone Les Paul 100 is smooth and warm. Dont get me wrong, it wasnt an awful guitar, but i didnt really like it.

WORTH IT ALL!!!!!

By gd1121

from Los Angeles, CA

I was surprised at this guitar's low cost, because it played real well. It's action is perfect and the pickups buck the hum really well. There is nothing wrong with this guitar. It's lightweight, sounds great, and it's affordable. Great for the beginning to advanced guitar player. Though I could find this cheaper at another store, guitar center offers this at a great price.
