Overview

The LTD FX-360 proves that you don't need fancy colors and paint jobs to maintain that edgy rock look and sound. The FX's mahogany body style with its sharp beveled edges is the perfect stage to showcase its spalted maple top: a tonewood that requires just the right amount of ravaging by nature to get its amazing variety of alluring colors and patterns. The LTD-360's thin, U-shaped, mahogany-and-rosewood set neck and 22 extra jumbo frets make playing an absolute dream. It also comes with EMG 81 (bridge) and EMG 60 (neck) pickups that help give this axe more punch and crunch. The guitar also features ESP tuners, a tune-o-matic bridge and tailpiece, volume and tone control, and black nickel hardware.

hands down, best guitar for hard rock and metal.

By andrew stonerock

Comments about ESP LTD FX-360 Electric Guitar:

I have been watching videos from rob chappers, and paul riario and they both reviewed this guitar. I instantly wanted one. I was walkin around in my local gc today, and saw this beauty hanging there. I plugged it in and was blown away. I ran thru riffs from slipknot, metallica, breaking benjamin and even five finger, along with my own material. It felt amazing in my hands, greap shape to the neck, no where near as thick as my epi g400. And the emgs are amazing. The 60 is the greatest for chunky rhythms, i found the 81 to be a little thin sounding but after tweakin the eq on my ibanez half stack i got the perfect boost with x mode kicked on. Buy this guitar!!!!!!

Good price to sound like Hetfield

By ScottyDRock

Comments about ESP LTD FX-360 Electric Guitar:

Allow me to start by saying that this is the seventh guitar I've owned and have been playing for 11 years. I purchased the FX-360sm and was blown away by the value for the money. First thing I noticed was the beautiful Spalted Maple top. It would be an understatement to say that it was striking. I love the active EMGs. I play alot of Metallica and I tend to prefer using the 81, as opposed to the 60 or turning them both on. Best way to describe it is that the 81 feels more like their sound from And Justice for all... The 60 has a really bassy sound and actually feels more scooped than the 81, not alot of mids. The 60 sounds great for playing Black Album stuff though, particularly Of Wolf and Man. I have to say, however, that the I was impressed with the clean tones of both pickups. Activating both while playing the bridge in Master of Puppets or the verse riff for Fade to Black sounds spot on. Nice full range of tones. The 60 by itself seems best used for overdriven tones as opposed to heavy distortion. Recommend using MXR overdrive pedal and a cry baby wah to get the full effect. The jumbo Frets are a thrashers dream. Originally used GHS Boomers on her, but got a little hum when not strumming. Switched to Ernie Balls and that problem went away. Needless to say, if your thinking about buying this guitar I'd tell you to go for it.

Awesome. Period.

By Jimbo

Comments about ESP LTD FX-360 Electric Guitar:

This guitar is perfect. This is my fourth guitar, I have a Dean Caddilac, an Epiphone Les Paul Custom, a Schecter Hellraiser, and now this. It tops them all by about, say, give or take about a few thousand beast points. This creature has got an awesome satin finish, which I love personally, because mostly you don't need to polish it. Also, It's got the killer look, literally, you could probably kill someone with it. The Spalted Maple top is just a veneer, i know, but it's amazing. It's got the looks, and the sound. I have a cheaper version, with ESP passive pickups, which I'm probably going to swap out for something nicer, but I've played this one with Active EMG's and I LOVE it. Even with the coil tap, which is fantastic, I thinbk that this sounds 20% better. If you can find the right amp and/or pedal combination to go with this guitar, it will sound better than any Dean, Epiphone or Schecter combined. So, overall, the axe is quite a bargain, you can't beat it. One downfall, though, is that this beast does not come with a hardshall, as I believe one of these other reviews said also, and that's a bit of a price to pay. Also, the case is about the size of a refrigerator, so that's a bit of a lot to lug around wherever you go. But overall, this guitar is a monster, recommended to anyone who is into... well... music.

Awesome. Period.

By Barty

Comments about ESP LTD FX-360 Electric Guitar:

This guitar is my fourth guitar, after playing a few piece-o-junk "affordable" hunks of wood with strings on it. Even with my four years experience, I can still tell this guitar is worthy of the greatest. It has great pickups, even with the nine-volt requirement, and the neck is extremely fast. The one I got had a bit of fret buzz on the E string, but easily fixed with a bit of heightening on the bridge. Also, this creature has an awesome satin finish, which is a real asset. I LOVE satin finishes, basically because you don't have to polish it. So this monster is definetly reccomended by me, just make sure you can afford to buy a hardshell case if you plan to travel with it, and make sure you can fit it into your car, because the case is about the size of a refrigerator. Happy Jamming!

Nice twist on a classic.

Comments about ESP LTD FX-360 Electric Guitar:

i do not own this guitar, but it is on my list of possible new guitars. its a classy explorer (the shape i swear by) but has a totally different look due to the finish. i play and epiphone gt explorer, my first (and only guitar) and im so used to the explorer shape that holding my buddy's les paul feels completely awkward, and a strat or same style guitar, like all the soloing ibenez's or esp's feel way to to thin. i know the EMG's are the best for rock and metal, but they can do it all with almost any amp. and the natural finish means this guitar could blend in with a bluesy crowd, but yet still stick out.

The good, the bad, the ugly...

By J-DUB

from Screw City, IL

Comments about ESP LTD FX-360 Electric Guitar:

First of, I am a longtime fan of ESP with a collection to be proud of. Having played ESP guitars since the late 90's I have noticed the incredible upswing in terms of quality, availability, price, and so forth ESP and LTD has experienced as of late. That being said, ESP and LTD really peaked around 2003-2007 and have been cutting corners ever since. On to this guitar. The Good: While I prefer ESP's I will occasionally pick up an LTD particularly if it is a model with which I am unfamiliar and I want a heads up on the design. That is my reason for getting an FX-360 in the new PBS finish. The look of the guitar is gorgeous. The finish is very nice and accents the woodgrain very nicely. The electronics are perfect. Nothing beats the tried and true EMG 81/60 combo. The neck is fast and the satin finish is easy to maintain. The Bad: Like I said previously, ESP is cutting corners. First off this model is made in China. This is different from other LTD's made in either Korea or Indonesia. I really dislike the idea of using a product which is made in China. The hardware is garbage. ESP has ditched the traditional black hardware with easily tarnished black nickel hardware. I have replaced all of the hardware on mine. This guitar also does not have locking tuners. I installed Sperzels myself. Also essential to any serious guitarist is the addition of strap locks. After essentially rebuilding the guitar I can say that now it looks good. The cheap stock hardware had to go. Another thing is how ESP's and LTD's do not come with cases or even gig bags for most models. I had to purchase a hardshell case for this guitar separately. So, when one looks at the low price of the guitar itself the cost of upgrading the guitar must be taken into consideration whereas in years gone by these things would have been standard. All in all this is a well-balanced and solidly built guitar. For the more seasoned ESP player there is a lot to be desired. For those players looking to upgrade from entry-level guitars LTD is still the best value out there.

Great Guitar for the Price

By Emerson Maldonado

from Somerset, New Jersey

Comments about ESP LTD FX-360 Electric Guitar:

My friend got this guitar as a trade for his Jackson D3 and he has let me try it several times, enough that I'm able to write a review about it. The guitar is a looker, the classic X-plorer look is sure to turn heads with the Natural Finish. Not only does it look good, it feels amazing while playing, even when playing for long periods of time, because of its extremely light weight(A Plus for active giggers!). The neck is smooth and has a nice profile, and the pickups are just fire-breathing dragons at your disposal(Perfect for metal yet they sound good while on a clean setting). The bridge is easily adjustable if you're looking to drop-tune this baby and take it all the way to the metal highway. So, if you are an occasional player, or an active musician looking for a gorgeous axe that looks, plays, and sounds amazing; you're covered with this guitar.

Love this Guitar!

By Joshua

from El Paso, Texas

Comments about ESP LTD FX-360 Electric Guitar:

I love this guitar and how amazing it looks, I love to show off the special looks it has with the unique wood touch. It's a great guitar and would recommend it for guitarists who have more than a years experience, even two years since I do find it a bit hard to play, which definetly develops calasis, but it is a bit harder to play than the regular Ibanez or Equiphone guitars. All in all you get used to it, and love it.
