Comments about ESP LTD F-JR Junior F Electric Guitar:
Bought this as a travel guitar as it was the only one of its peers that came with a gig bag and I liked the pickup configuration. Hate the x-Jumbo fret wire; with such compact frets and short scale, a little too much pressure on the fretboard and the note is sharp...a light touch is needed. The guitar needs fret leveling to remove fret buzz - I set a higher action and added more neck relief as a temporary fix. The design is great, string thru-body, TOM bridge (which desparately needed intonation adjustment - but easily fixed with a small slotted screwdriver), but the finishing work on headstock paint lines and fretboard make this look and feel like a cheap guitar. Pickups are very aggressive and dark sounding - at high gain settings it delivers booming lows but with a fizzy distortion on the top end. Cleans are OK but similarly dark. With the right amp settings, this guitar delivers a quality sound much bigger than its tiny body suggests. I do like it, but don't know if I will keep it - might swap it for a Laguna or Squire and put the savings into upgraded pickups and a gig bag...
