The inspiration for the unique shape and design of the LTD F-155DX Bass from ESP would appear to be a mix of Route 66 Interstate signs and weaponry from an old Dungeons & Dragons manual. Forgoing the traditional, rounded apple bottom bass, the LTD F-series basses feature off-centered curves, beveled edges, and points in places you won't see on any other guitar, let alone a bass. The double cutaway design makes the bass guitar's upper and lower horns appear to be a skeletal finger and thumb respectively.

The LTD F-155DX has 5 strings, with a thin "U" contoured maple neck and 35" scale. The body is made of basswood with a flamed maple top that contrasts subtly with the rosewood fingerboard. As your fingers explore the 24 XJ frets your rhythms and melodies are trapped by dual ESP SB-5 pickups and can be reshaped with the ESP ABQ-3 3 band EQ. The ESP DB-5 string-thru-body bridge, tuners, and control knobs are all black nickel.

i got this bass about a month ago.. and I've been playing it roughly 8 hours a day since.. i love everything about it.. it sounds fantastic.. it feels fantastic.. it looks phenomenal. its got a good weight.. and it has alot of sound control. the only problems I've had with it, is that i can't stop cleaning it because i care too much about it.. and i seem to have troubles finding super long scale strings that i like. but it is still a fantastic bass all around and definitely worth every penny.

I ordered this bass online after playing the 4-string version at a local music store and after waiting a couple of weeks (it was back ordered) there are no words to describe how perfect this bass is! It's construction is flawless, it's sound is unique and it plays and looks like a beast! Even though it may seem a little pricy, I cannot stress enough how much it is worth every penny!!

Decent, but have played better for the money

By B-ry

from bellingham washington

Had for over a year now,The sound as far as pickups and electronics go was fine, the control layout is excellent, the neck in thinner than my Ibanez, and it plays alright.-However- the workmanship was poor. the scarf joint on the neck was not sanded down all the way, so i could feel where the neck and headstock joined together, whoever filed the frets missed a bunch of times with the file and took a chunk out of the corner of the fretboard and the finish was thick and gloppy. it's good for the price, but for a little extra, i previously bought a Bc Rich warlock 5 (now discontinued) that is vastly better quality, and its tone kicks this bass in the teeth. i will use the LTD as my back up, but that's about it...

Great Bass/Bad Service

By Naoto

from Stallings,NC

This Bass is truly a beautiful instrument. There was no fret buzz and it has an extremely light body with a nice neck. The 5 band EQ is wonderful and it makes the instrument so versatile. Because of the finish though, it tends to get fingerprints really easily. The only thing that I had a real problem with was that I ordered the bass in January through G.C. and finally received it from a different store in April. Like I said, the bass is still a unique and eye-catching one.

Awesome bass after a quick tweek

By Patrick

from Los Angeles, CA

The ESP is a very nice bass. The only issue I had is when I first started playing I had to turn my amp way up just to hear it so I thought that the electronics might be bad. But luckily the horrible cheapness of the strings that came on it cleared that right up. The G string broke in literally less than 20 minutes. So I slapped some Ernies on and now it sounds like a completely different bass, worlds better than when it showed up. So bottom line if you buy this bass throw in some of whatever strings you use and restring it through the body before you even plug it in.

Great Bass

By Tyler

from Kansas

This is an amazing bass. Very clean, no rattling strings like you get with cheaper basses. Good tone. Excelent attention grabber! The see through purple is sharp in the sunlight. My favorite part is how smooth it is when i'm playing. The bass is kinda expensive but for the money your getting twice the bass.
