Best guitar in this price range

Comments about ESP LTD EC-401VF Electric Guitar with DiMarzio Pickups:

In my opinion, this is absolutely the best guitar, hands down, in this price range. This blows any Epiphone out of the water. I got this on sale and couldn't be happier. The guitar is a little on the bright side, but I found with a little tweaking of the volume and tone knobs you can get an amazing warm sound out of both the Dimarzio pickups. I'm running it through a Marshall JCM 2000 DSL 50.The quality and materials used in this guitar is something you find on more expensive instruments. It's solid as a rock and the flame maple top looks amazing. Highly recommended.

Comments about ESP LTD EC-401VF Electric Guitar with DiMarzio Pickups:

I have been playing for 25+ years and have had a slew of different guitar in every price range. Squire strats, Gibson les paul, jaguar, mustang and on and on. My son has an ec100 which drew me more into looking at esp/ltd I figured his guitar was a great player and for $150 used the 401 had to be a pretty nice setup. So I was back in the market looking for a les paul style guitar( sold my gibson 10 years ago) and heard a lot of good things about epiphone and there quality getting a lot better. Went to look at a used traditional pro for $400 and they had a used LTD ec401vf made in Korea w the seymour duncan 59 neck jb bridge set up for $250. When I picked it up plugged it in and strummed 2 chords I already decided to buy it. Honestly with my eyes closed feel and sound you would have thought you were holding a $2000 les paul. Jumbo frets, maple top mahogany neck and body with top dollar pickups Grover tuners etc. So you can buy an epiphone and dump $250 in pickups, pots, tuners etc and have 4 knobs or spend half that and have a sweet player out of the box. No brainer just go for it you won't regret it.

Comments about ESP LTD EC-401VF Electric Guitar with DiMarzio Pickups:

I got one of these over the summer, and I've been gigging it regularly since then. I have another 401, and a 1000 series that stay home because of this one. I wanted one without EMG's and 24 frets with a full thickness body. This guitar lives up to my demands. It's not the best guitar I own by far, but it's more than good enough to play out and record with. We live in a great time where you don't need to spend a lot of money to get a good guitar. I bought it to be a workhorse, and it delivers. If you have money and want bragging rights, sure, buy an ESP. This guitar will not disappoint though.

Comments about ESP LTD EC-401VF Electric Guitar with DiMarzio Pickups:

I have been playing since the age of 12 and I am now 34. I have played many guitars and have owned Stratocaster's and wanted to try something new...i have always been a fan if Gibson but could never afford one. I went into my local Guitar Center and played 30 to 40 different guitars. I have to say after all that two guitars really stood out from the rest...ESP LTD EC-256 and the ESP LTD EC-401VF with Dimarzio Pickups. Yes I was drawn to the Les Paul body styling so ESP and Ephiphone were the brand's I was seeking as a Gibson was a bit oit of my price range. From the time i first held the guitars they felt very well made and had great playability. I knew my 401VF was the guitar for me...it took me 4 days of going through Epiphone Les Paul customs only to revert back to what I picked up 4 days earlier.
