I got this guitar for my birthday, and I was diehard Ibanez fan. After a week with this guitar, that changed. It is by far the most comfortable guitar I've ever played, and the quality is amazing. I bought it used for $350 at GC, because it had EMGs put on it. With EMGs and some 11s, this thing puts out unbelievable riffs, even in Standard Tuning. If you plan to put EMGs on it, this is a guitar you don't want to miss.

I used to own one of these. "Used to" is the key phrase here. Once I bought a guitar made of a decent wood (swamp ash / mahogany), I realized how horrible agathis sounds. For the price, the workmanship is excellent, and the hardware gave me no problems. However, the pickups and electronics in general are horrible. You can put an Earvana nut on it, strap locks, new pickups (the Hot Rodded Combo works good in this guitar), new pots, a new input jack, and upgrade the bridge, but by then you've spent too much on an unworthy guitar, and your resale value for what you've spent is not going to improve. Take this as a life lesson: buy something with decent wood if you plan on upgrading. Otherwise, money spent on a good but used guitar, or on any guitar that's not agathis, would be money better spent. ESP's workmanship and quality are good, but the wood is the worst player on what is a losing team. Get something else.

Great guitar quality for the money

    By Jose

Comments about ESP LTD EC-100QM Electric Guitar:

Well, I got mine over two weeks ago and have been using it about 5 to 8 hours per week. I tuned it when it first came and it's still in perfect tune like the first day, I plugged it and it all works great. I only plugged it that one time to make sure it works like it should, since I only practice unplugged (so I don't disturb others). I wanted to buy high quality, but didn't want to pay too much, since I only need for unplugged practice (and I love this les-paul-looking shape). I am more than amused and pleased with the purchase. If I must say something negative, I'd say it's noticeably heavier than my "Jackson Js30rr Randy Rhoads V Guitar," but the overall beauty and quality of this EC-100QM makes it a 5-star guitar.

Comments about ESP LTD EC-100QM Electric Guitar:

I once had a MIA Fender Stratocaster and this guitar has the same playability. I should say that right out of the box, you'll probably need to set the intonation, but that won't take too long. The guitar does seem to need tuning a bit, but you can upgrade the tuners. The factory pickups seem fine to me, but my amp is a Marshall. Anything is going to sound good through a Marshall. I thought a guitar with Humbuckers and the playability of a Strat would cost an arm and a leg. This guitar is a good buy at the price. I would reccomend it to anyone wanting a new axe for a low price. You could easily spend a lot more and not get as good a guitar.

      Great Guitar!

Comments about ESP LTD EC-100QM Electric Guitar:

I bought this guitar about a year ago, I didn't buy it in guitar center though, I bought it at ebay. It was about it cost me about 200 dollars. Although one of my pick ups doesn't work (Probably Ebay's fault)it's still a great guitar, The neck feels smooth for fast playing, easy to tune, and stays in tune. Looks beautiful in sunburst. I highly recommend it as a first, or second guitar.

Comments about ESP LTD EC-100QM Electric Guitar:

This i s a good guitar if you are looking for that deeper humbucking tone. I own a squier strat that i have professionally set up and this guitar was set up just as well which was suprsing because i bought it for 100 off craigslist. the one thing i don't like is the jumbo frets as i am used to the low frets on the strat. however i guess that is just personal preference.

        Pretty good, I think

        By Matt Roberson

        from Mount Pleasant, MI

Comments about ESP LTD EC-100QM Electric Guitar:

My first electric after years of playing acoustic. It's taking some getting used to. Things about which I'm unsure: the neck is less rounded, so my hand tends to bump against high e string. Low e string rattles against frets when you really swipe it. Also, the neck/frets have minor blemishes in the materials. Otherwise, it's got some good sound and is fun to play. Good looking guitar with some real heft to it. I suspect this is as good an electric as you can get for the price.

Sweet little guitar. Very pretty. Good sound. Some minor blemishes in the wood of the neck, but nothing significant. My first electric after years of playing acoustics, and I'm having a blast.

Comments about ESP LTD EC-100QM Electric Guitar:

One of my cheapest ($) guitars but is the one I use all the time. The factory Pickups sound ok clean, but muddy with overdrive or distortion. I change them for a pair of seymour duncan seth lover SH-55 and it sounds grate. No problem with the hardware but might change the tuners and the saddles. Over all a grate guitar for the price and with the right pickups it can stand next to any other.
