Overview

The ESP LTD Deluxe MH-1000 electric guitar features a set-thru 3-piece maple neck, mahogany body with gorgeous carved maple top, and a rosewood fretboard. The thin, U-shaped neck with 24 extra jumbo frets provides comfort and speed. An EMG-81 humbucker at the bridge and an 85 at the neck provide plenty of power and note definition. Grover tuners and an FR locking nut keep you tuned and intoned, so you'll sound your best. Volume, tone and a 3-way toggle give you options with simplicity. Genuine Floyd Rose bridge let you dive bomb the night away. Black hardware, offset abalone block inlays and white with abalone purfling finish off a great look.

Set-thru neck construction is an innovative technique in which the neck is glued to the body (like a set neck), however the traditional bulky heel is carved away (similar to neck-thru-body construction). This makes access to the ESP MH-1000's upper frets and the neck-to-body transition much smoother. Just as on a set neck, you will get a combination of tone from both the neck and body with the set-thru construction. The sound will depend on the types of wood used, but generally will have a fuller, warmer tone when compared to most neck-thru-body electric guitars.

Case sold separately.

I bought this guitar a few months ago and I am in love with it. It is great for metal, but can still play nice, lighter music. The EMGs are fantastic and I love the sound I get from them. It's very easy to play and get used to. I was worried at first that I might get lost on the neck without more profound inlays, but I quickly got used to them. The guitar is amazing, but I can't seem to get my guitar to stay in tune when I whammy a lot, even with the nut locked. However, that doesn't stop me from loving this guitar!

My Favorite

Comments about ESP LTD Deluxe MH-1000 Electric Guitar with EMGs:

I bought one of these last year as a frankenstrat project and have absolutely fallen in love with it. I don't play a lot of metal, so I swapped the EMGs for Seymour Duncan APH-1's and had independent coil tap switches installed. The result is an instrument that has a huge range of tonal possibilities from classic Fender twang to Gibson warmth. The finish is beautiful, although some would consider the binding a bit flashy. Out of the box, the set-up was perfect, the fretting very precise, and it is a very comfortable instrument to play. The switch and knobs are well placed and easy to access, unlike most guitars with a FR where the volume knob is too close to the base of the tremolo unit to access with your pinky. It's held up well to a year of frequent playing. I will be buying another one or two of these in the near future.

Esp Ltd MH-1000

Comments about ESP LTD Deluxe MH-1000 Electric Guitar with EMGs:

Out of the box. Slung over my back. This guitar has proven itself within the first hour of play. Came straight from the factory, in tune and set up perfect. This guitar is well worth the money. No buyers remorse. It offers a great sound and doesn't sacrifice any punch when it comes to throwing it into overdrive. The cleans are perfect and depending on how set up your controls it will let you manipulate it in to doing whatever you want. Kick on the distortion and you're gonna hit ever natural and artificial harmonic known to man. the sustain is top notch. Bottom line, this guitar is where it's at.

Well Made and worth the money!

Comments about ESP LTD Deluxe MH-1000 Electric Guitar with EMGs:

I bought the black cherry version and I have to say...very very well pleased. I bought this guitar several days ago and am still awestruck with how well it plays and the beauty of it. The finish and overall look of this guitar is stunning. Very sharp and very well crafted. Emg pickups - when I first began playing this guitar I noticed that the pickups are very full sounding. Much fuller than ordinary passive pickups. These pickups are designed to be very high output...so you can literally do harmonics on nearly every fret with great ease. Clean tone sounds great on these pickups too...so don't let the "emg" pickups fool you. The neck pickup, emg 85, has a very thick full tone. While the 81 has a thinner, full tone. Distortion sounds amazing on this guitar...any distortion with high gain. The Grover tuners on this guitar blew me away, simply because how smooth they turn...you can tell they are high quality just by turning them. Floyd Rose Trem is A+ without a doubt and the look of the trem is amazing as well and will stay in tune with no problems. The Trem has a dark chrome finish...different but it fits the guitar well. You can dive bomb easily and there's no tuning problems that I've noticed at all. The neck is thin not ultra thin like the M-1000 but it is still thin enough to shred and solo to your hearts content. Overall, This guitar is worth much more than what the asking price is. If I have any cons with this guitar, it's the painted neck and the Fret Bars (The bars that distinguish fret from fret). I am not used to painted necks. At first glance I was a little dismayed and worried that it would slow my playing. You get used to it quickly and in my opinion helps my playing and is faster. The Fretting on the guitar, as mentioned above, is taller than what I'm used to. This may be because it's a new guitar but I also got used to this fact rapidly as well. The strings are very close to the fretboard and this helps tremendously. On standard Bridges, the Strings are usually much higher off the neck....which is what I'm used to. One last thing to note...the intonation was spot on right out of the box and already in tune. Packing was great as well! So either way, almost no cons, very well constructed and beautiful...a very very satisfied buyer!

Comments about ESP LTD Deluxe MH-1000 Electric Guitar with EMGs:

I have fallen in love with ESP/LTD guitars the past 6 months. They have a unique combination of an Ibanez prestige and a Les Paul. The neck is rounded like a Les Paul, easy to play, smooth, and clean, yet you also get all the perks of a metal guitar (Floyd Rose), lock down tuners. So you have a lot of versatility with this guitar.

I played it once in a GC store and bought it right on the spot. Unbeatable price for a fully loaded guitar. The EMG pick-ups are a nice added bonus. Lots of power, but I play through a Marshall too.

The only thing I would say is a negative, is,if you like, and are used to playing lighter weight guitars like Ibanez, Jackson, Charvel, Fender this guitar is heavier. It is like a Les Paul. I have played blues, hard rock, jazz, and metal, with this guitar and found it to be flawless.

No guitar I have played has been perfect, but this is pretty close, and for the price you can't beat it. I probably wouldn't recommend it for a beginner, but if you're an intermediate to advanced player this is your axe!

One monster of a guitar

Comments about ESP LTD Deluxe MH-1000 Electric Guitar with EMGs:

Man ive played many different brands, heard many different tones, this guitar does it all! It has amazing cleans but like the other reviews state, when you kick on distortion you will be blown away at how great this guitar is a hitting every harmonic possible and the sustain it keeps when holding chords and notes. Throw some effects in with it and you can pretty much obtain any tone you desire wether it be classic rock, blues, and of course heavy metal. I would highly recommomend this guitar if you want top notch quality and craftsmanship without the outragous gibson like price tag.

One Hell of a guitar

By michael

Comments about ESP LTD Deluxe MH-1000 Electric Guitar with EMGs:

honestly, i like this cause it's tone and quality just suits people who like heavy metal or in that catagory. it's neck is perfect for sweeping and just any solo. the emg's it has make the sustain go on for a long time hen you need to fix your self up like if you are on a bad posture, so basically the note stays for a really long time. it sounds nice in D standard, drop B, and C. for its price it is one guitar that sticks up for it's self. NO doubt it is totally worth it. one of the best i played

Excellent Guitar, too good for the money!

Comments about ESP LTD Deluxe MH-1000 Electric Guitar with EMGs:

I have owned this guitar now for just over a year. This guitar amazes me on multiple levels. I bought the Floyd Rose version with see thru black cherry. The neck of this guitar is extremely thin and is a very comfortable neck to hold. The Floyd Rose stays in tune and doesn't get out of tune or pitch at all. The tone of this guitar is quite good....EMG 81/85 combo is difficult to beat Imo. The craftsmanship of this guitar as well as the components used are outstanding for the actual price. After a year of playing, it still plays like new and I would assume it'll play like this for a very long time...as long as it is taken care of. The biggest thing I noticed about this guitar is you can REALLY, REALLY Shred with it...quite easily and the feel of playing it alone, is well worth it hands down.
