The LTD EC-I000 FR guitar has a mahogany body with a select maple top and a rosewood fretboard. The thin U-shaped mahognay neck with 24 extra jumbo frets provides comfort and speed. EMG 81/60 active pickups provide plenty of power and note definition. Controls include 2 volumes, one tone and a 3-way selector switch. The Floyd Rose bridge is unique to this member of the EC-1000 models and is rarely found in guitars with a 24-3/4" scale length. Black nickel hardware and abalone inlays finish off a great look.

This guitar was perfect right out of the box ! The action is low & fast, the EMGs have all the punch you need, and the finish & workmanship is impeccable ! I was thinking about getting a Les Paul before I got this guitar, but now it'll never happen ! How can you go wrong with virtually the same woods, EMGs, a Floyd, flame maple top, & abalone inlays for half the price of a Les Paul ? ESP has got their stuff together ! I like it so much I bought a ESP LTD Viper-100FM to beat up on. If you want a pro guitar for under 1000 bucks, this is the one to buy !
Had this guitar for about a month now and I love it. I was looking for a Les Paul style guitar with a Floyd Rose and this guitar does not dissapoint. It looks absolutely beautiful, plays like a dream and sounds amazing. The EMG 81 and 60 sound great. The Floyd Rose 1000 stays in perfect tune. The abalone binding and inlays look beautiful. The neck is a fast neck. Very similiar to the speedy necks of other ESP/LTD models. If your in the matket for a Les Paul style guitar with a Floyd this is your answer.
I love my ec w/ fr. I have the see through black, it is beautiful, and sounds great. I am a fan of Alex Lifeson, and need the tremolo to vibrato the full chords, like Alex does. The tremolo is great easy to set up, I changed string gauge as soon as I got it and I had it set up and tuned in under an hour. The emgs are amazing. I have a see through red hard tail also, and I am saving up for a snow white esp eclipse. I was a les paul fan until I played my first ltd. The necks are so much more comfortable, and the guitars are lighter, without sacrificing crunch. I recommend them to anyone, with a good tube amp you can get any sound you want.
This guitar has perfect tone! The playability is only average. what i love about the playability is the short scale making the strings perfectly tense but not too tense in drop c with ernie ball beefy slinkeys. the only two bad aspects of the playability are that the floyd tends to go just a little bit out of tune if you go crazy on it, and the frets are very buzzy unless you set the action kinda undesireably high. the fret buzz issue is prevalent with most if not every EC-1000, i own the FR and have played two others that are not the FR and they all have either fret buzz or a high action. If you have the money to get all the frets leveled and dressed or replaced you can make this THE PERFECT GUITAR for anyone who uses the floyd rose lightly to moderately. The sound/tone on this guitar is absolutely professional, I would recommend buying this guitar and getting the frets done or just saving up and getting the ESP eclipse or eclipse fr, this guitar and the actuall eclipse sound exactly the same, Excellent, but the eclipse has better playability unless you get the frets on the LTD ec-1000 redone so you can have a lower action.
I had been saving up money for around 2-3 years, I was looking for a Gibson Les Paul Studio, but i tried out this one... I must say I was impressed and I decided to continue saving up for this guitar, to me it blew the gibson out of the water... It is very light, the neck is very comfortable, it is worth every dollar, the EMG's just get every sound I want, even clean... if you want a real good guitar, buy this one, you wont regret it, it has made me play around 8 hours or 9 in a day and no, I dont get bored, it is just plain beauty
I have always loved the Les Paul body style, but struggled to find something within my price range that also has a tremelo. Finally, finally, finally, I get to keep my beloved LP body style and get to have a Floyd Rose bridge! I picked this up about 6 months ago and it has now become my main guitar on stage and at rehearsals. I'll let the looks of this guitar speak for themselves, but for the record - very pretty. The action is fast and the neck remains smooth if treated...watch the sweat though. The active pickups are very hot compared to my Les Paul (more my problem when switching between active and passive type guitars). The clean tone can sound a little "tinny" compared to my LP, but it's manageable with the right amp adjustments. And like others have already mentioned, this guitar can take whatever type of abuse you can give the tremelo and it will still stay in tune. I never thought I'd have a reason to put away my Jackson Soloist, but here it is: a 24 fret, active pickup, Floyd Rose equipped guitar with the look, feel, and tone of a Les Paul. You get the best of both worlds at an affordable price. You need this guitar!
this guitar is beautiful. whether you play clean or with distortion/gain, it does whatever you want it to. the combination of emg pickups gives you many ways to craft your tone to meet any situation. don't bother staring at the pictures,(like i did), because when you see this guitar up close, you will be amazed at the quality and workmanship. the floyd rose is perfect, and out of the box the intonation is perfect. flexible, beautiful, and one heck of a deal, do yourself a favor, and buy this guitar. thanks ESP.
This guitar is incredible. I am very happy with this purchase. I have tone AND a floyd rose.....FINALLY........I also own the EC 1000 with duncans and a stoptail....(another killer axe) I am a les paul/passive pickup kind of guy so I may switch over from active....but I will put either one of these guitars up against ANY gibson les paul any day. I have yet to find a les paul that compares in quality and craftmanship to these eclipse models. Tone and feel....with looks that turn heads....gotta love it. Buy one of these and you won't be dissapointed.
This amp is good, if you get a good one. I have played three of theses amps. Mine is very good, sounds great, the other two I played at a store sounded horrible. Honestly, the distortion on this amp is not great, but I use pedals for distortion anyways so this has never been a problem. The tuner is so-so. Its not extremely accurate, but it enough to get you close to being in tune. This amp is great for the local jazz band I play in. It can get a great, smooth bass sound, and the reverb is nice and warm. I have not found any use for the delay, it seems pretty useless too me. My biggest complaint is the lack of a 1/4" line out. I have needed that several times to be mixed in to a monitor system. You can get nice rock and metal tones out of this amp if you are willing to spend the time messing with it, and to invest in some good distortion pedals. This amp is a great value, there are better amps out there, but none anywhere near this price range.
Awesome Axe. I've had this guitar for over a month now and I am very pleased. The neck feel VERY comfortable, The finish is gorgeous, and the trem is top quality. If you are wondering about the floyd rose It is a series 1000. That is not a bad thing in this case. It is an original floyd rose (exact specs I believe) The only difference is that it is made in Korea. I can tune with a chromatic tuner, dive bomb a bunch of times, check the tuning and it will still be dead on. Overall this is an awesome guitar. It makes it very hard to decide to play this or my Gibson. Note: I am getting some slight oscillations from the trem springs. They don't come through the amp. There are upgrades you can buy to fix this for cheap.Do yourself a favor and buy this guitar or an Ltd in the series 400 line or above. They have always been consistently top notch.
