Comments about ESP LTD Deluxe EC-1000 FR Electric Guitar:

I bought this guitar based on the reviews (the GC near me did not have one to play) and it was well worth the money. Very comfortable and fast neck which makes me happy due to a hand injury I sustained a few years back.

Comments about ESP LTD Deluxe EC-1000 FR Electric Guitar:

My original pick was the Epiphone Prophecy, but after two attempts (1st had a notched frets, 2nd had a broken neck), I decided to try the ESP EC-1000 FR. The cost was quite a bit higher, but the build quality of this guitar was so far above the Prophecy, I consider the difference in price a bargain. The most notable difference was the quality of the frets. The Prophecy had gritty-feeling frets, while the EC-1000 frets are polished to the point of feeling like glass, very nice. The EC-1000 neck looks and feels quite a bit more expensive than the Prophecy as well. Sound-wise, both were comparable with EMG 81/85's in the Prophecy and EMG 81/60's in the EC-1000. The EMG 60 has a cleaner, full-body tone when compared with the EMG 85, which I like. The Floyd Rose adds a nice touch to the LP style and the strings stay in tune nicely.

The only aspect of the EC-1000 that I wasn't happy with was the setup. Out of the box, the action was unbelievably low, and this caused quite a bit of string buzz. Some consider some buzz normal on this type of instrument, but I thought it was a bit excessive. On closer inspection, the neck had no bow (it should have a little) and the string height was below recommended specs (0.2mm bass-side and 0.15mm treble). I found the setup on this guitar to quite a bit more finicky than my old ESP KH series, but after an hour or so of tweaking, I was able to fix the issue.

If you're in the market for a mid-level, LP-style guitar, spend the extra cash and go for this guy, you won't be disappointed.

      Impressed

      By AUGUST BECKER

      from Nashville, Tn.

Comments about ESP LTD Deluxe EC-1000 FR Electric Guitar:

This guitar was perfect right out of the box ! The action is low & fast, the EMGs have all the punch you need, and the finish & workmanship is impeccable ! I was thinking about getting a Les Paul before I got this guitar, but now it'll never happen ! How can you go wrong with virtually the same woods, EMGs, a Floyd, flame maple top, & abalone inlays for half the price of a Les Paul ? ESP has got their stuff together ! I like it so much I bought a ESP LTD Viper-100FM to beat up on. If you want a pro guitar for under 1000 bucks, this is the one to buy !

Comments about ESP LTD Deluxe EC-1000 FR Electric Guitar:

This guitar is packed with features that are found in guitars 2 to 3 times the price. I play classic rock, and this guitar does it flawlessly. This guitar is a little on the heavy side, so get a comfortable strap. All in all this is a great guitar, if you have the coin and looking for a great rock guitar, grab you one of these, you wont be let down. I bought the see thru black one, but both are really sweet.

      Great Guitar

      By Todd Bishop

      from Houston, Tx

Comments about ESP LTD Deluxe EC-1000 FR Electric Guitar:

Had this guitar for about a month now and I love it. I was looking for a Les Paul style guitar with a Floyd Rose and this guitar does not dissapoint. It looks absolutely beautiful, plays like a dream and sounds amazing. The EMG 81 and 60 sound great. The Floyd Rose 1000 stays in perfect tune. The abalone binding and inlays look beautiful. The neck is a fast neck. Very similiar to the speedy necks of other ESP/LTD models. If your in the matket for a Les Paul style guitar with a Floyd this is your answer.

      great axe!!!!!

Comments about ESP LTD Deluxe EC-1000 FR Electric Guitar:

I love my ec w/ fr. I have the see through black, it is beautiful, and sounds great. I am a fan of Alex Lifeson, and need the tremolo to vibrato the full chords, like Alex does. The tremolo is great easy to set up, I changed string gauge as soon as I got it and I had it set up and tuned in under an hour. The emgs are amazing. I have a see through red hard tail also, and I am saving up for a snow white esp eclipse. I was a les paul fan until I played my first ltd. The necks are so much more comfortable, and the guitars are lighter, without sacrificing crunch. I recommend them to anyone, with a good tube amp you can get any sound you want.

Great guitar but room for improvement

      By Felipe Bennett

      from Apollo Beach, Florida

Comments about ESP LTD Deluxe EC-1000 FR Electric Guitar:

This guitar has perfect tone! The playability is only average. what i love about the playability is the short scale making the strings perfectly tense but not too tense in drop c with ernie ball beefy slinkeys. the only two bad aspects of the playability are that the floyd tends to go just a little bit out of tune if you go crazy on it, and the frets are very buzzy unless you set the action kinda undesireably high. the fret buzz issue is prevalent with most if not every EC-1000, i own the FR and have played two others that are not the FR and they all have either fret buzz or a high action. If you have the money to get all the frets leveled and dressed or replaced you can make this THE PERFECT GUITAR for anyone who uses the floyd rose lightly to moderately. The sound/tone on this guitar is absolutely professional, I would recommend buying this guitar and getting the frets done or just saving up and getting the ESP eclipse or eclipse fr, this guitar and the actuall eclipse sound exactly the same, Excellent, but the eclipse has better playability unless you get the frets on the LTD ec-1000 redone so you can have a lower action.

      Worth Every Dollar

      By Alejandro lozano

Comments about ESP LTD Deluxe EC-1000 FR Electric Guitar:

I had been saving up money for around 2-3 years, I was looking for a Gibson Les Paul Studio, but i tried out this one... I must say I was impressed and I decided to continue saving up for this guitar, to me it blew the gibson out of the water... It is very light, the neck is very comfortable, it is worth every dollar, the EMG's just get every sound I want, even clean... if you want a real good guitar, buy this one, you wont regret it, it has made me play around 8 hours or 9 in a day and no, I dont get bored, it is just plain beauty

Comments about ESP LTD Deluxe EC-1000 FR Electric Guitar:

very nice lp style with floyd. solid construction, good tone. take my advice and block the floyd so you can't pull up and the guitar stays in tune better. Also added the evh dtuna, very cool. pickups are added bonus cause I add emgs to all my guitars. only complaint is it should come with a case for the price.

      exceptional guitar for the money

Comments about ESP LTD Deluxe EC-1000 FR Electric Guitar:

I purchased this guitar four mos. ago, I ordered it on a sunday it arrived TUESDAY!!So much for GREAT SHIPPING!! it arrived well packed and intact, (really wish the case was included) As a proffessional guitarist for the last 30 yrs. I have made it a policy NOT to buya guitar without a case but I made an exception for this guitar because it had ALL the features I was looking for as a Metal VET!, First off I set the guitar up for an e-flat tuning and restrung it with 009,s then I plugged it in and the OOMPH I was expecting from the EMG's was nowhere so I immediadtely checked the battery and it was almost DEAD I popped in a new one and WOW instantly transformed to a Punchy crunchy tight beast!! great neck, very light, floyd was alittle stiff but overall an EXCEPTIONAL GUITAR for the price, Very satisfied customer.
