Pick up the ESP LTD Deluxe EC-1000 Electric Guitar and you'll believe this lightweight beauty can do it all. It's purposefully built for maximum crunch with its mahogany body, set mahogany 24-3/4"-scale neck, and rosewood fretboard (ebony on vintage black). Abalone flags plus the model name at the 12th fret give it distinction. The TonePros locking bridge and tailpiece keep tuning rock-solid. It features a flamed maple top and a pair of active EMG-81/60 pickups, except the amber sunburst model that sports a Seymour Duncan JB/59 passive pickup setup. See-thru colors all have quilted maple tops.

When I went up to guitarcenter and played it I was absolutely amazed with everything about it. Sweep picking was a breeze. The pinch-harmonics screamed. The neck was so fast it was like playing butter. I play many styles of music and I haven't found one that this guitar doesn't go with. The sustain is flawless, I could play a note before I went to sleep, and I'd wake up to find the note was still playing. I would highly suggest buying this guitar no matter what.

Dont get the stars wrong, this guitar is great. But with the exact same guitar at sam ash in almost every color for $599, it would be stupid to buy this guitar from guitar center. The guitar itself is awesome. good sound, solid harmonics, the works. the only two cons are that its heavy, and that even though the tuning heads lock the strings from stretching out of tune, getting the strings in tune in the first place is difficult. The tuning heads as you lock it detunes the strings. so actually dialing in the tune can be frustrating.

I was totally digging this guitar when I went to guitar center to make a purchase on a new ax for around 800 bucks today. It was the vintage black, with gold hardware guitar. Sweet sweet SWEEET feeling, sounding, and looking ax for sure. After closer inspection... I noticed that the binding on the neck, especially closer to the frets was very.... sub par... There was lots if little impressions, nicks, messy painting... just looked over all not well made near the frets. The frets were well beveled and leveled, but the paint job/binding on the neck really was not up to spec. For $850 that was just simply not acceptable. Not sure if it was just a bad issue, or if the quality of the whole range of ec1000s were at that standard of craftsmanship. Other than what I just said AWESOME GUITAR! I was this close to buying it, bought a big ol' amp instead. Oh well.... next time : )
I got this guitar as a Christmas gift from my grandparents and it is perfect for the type of music that I love to play, which is metalcore, hardcore, and post-hardcore. Along with the Line 6 Pod UX1 that I also got with this guitar, it is just flawless, every note is crisp and clear. And the sustains are just second to none. Even when I have a full-on metal tone set, and I think the EMG's are really why myself and so many other players are able to get that kind of awesome sound. All-in-all, it is a fabulous instrument!
i bought this guitar six months ago and i love it. it's perfect to play metal or hardcore with drop D, C#, C. the price is good too. it's easy to clean and thefretneck is very confortable i'll never get tired to play this guitar.
I just bought the EC-1000 in silver sunburst and I have to say that it is by far one of the best guitars I have ever owned. The only thing I have found that I don't like is there is some serious buzz on the low E string, especially playing in drop D. I checked the neck and it seems dead straight and there seems to be plenty of room between the strings and frets so I don't think it's fret buzz. I also am not very impressed with the supposedly lockable tuners. I will be changing them out for better ones soon. Other than these little frustrations, I love the guitar all the way around. The guitar is pretty light, the neck is really fast and the EMG pick ups are smoking. If you like Les Paul guitars but, don't have or want to spend that much money, you can not go wrong with this guitar. I personally like the EC-1000 better than a Les Paul.
I have had this guitar a little over a month or so and can,t seem to put it down. it,s probably one of the nicest guitars i have ever owned, and ive owned a few! lespaul rickenbauker, hofner, fender, to say the least. i bought the cherry red with the EMGs in it just because i liked the sound of it. the guitar has got some wieght to it, but all and all i find it to be pretty well balanced. I have read other reviews where some people did,nt think so, just like some people found it to be light where i find it to be a little heavey but then again im not as young as i used to be. the neck is very fast and thinner than a lot of guitars out there that i have owned and played. the only thing i can really complain about here is the low E string has a bit of a buzz and if you play with any kind of distortion it will go completely unoticed, i also found the pickup switch to be a little cheezey, rather loose in center position but can be changed. the finish is awsome, the locking tuners are fantastic, the action is really nice! I guess the rest is up to you!! Go play it, you won,t be sorry!
i have had my eye on this guitar for quite some time now, read all the reviews, even went to my local gc to handle and play it. this thing has a great feel to it not to mention it's truly a stunning looking guitar! i have just started playing again after 30 years, i played bass in rock bands during the 80 s and have'nt picked one up till now. ive had hofner, rickenbacker, fender, even an older lespaul, man i wish i kept those guitars!! anyways, i have a Ibanez a&e acoustic and wanted something that could really sing, well let me tell you this thing can do just that! i do have a little fret buzz on the low E but i have'nt had it looked at yet, i really don't notice it much when playing with the gain on or through my Ibanez ts9 tube sceamer. on clear i can pick it up a bit but not bad enough to want to throw it out the window. i would also like to see the action a little lower, but like i said it has'nt been looked at yet. mine is the see through cherry ec 1000, if you really know how to make a guitar talk! then i suggest you get your hands on one and let it speak for it's self! i can only make it mumble and it still sounds great! GOOD LUCK !!
I walked into my guitar center looking for a guitar for metal and tried out many guitars.None of them could fit what i really wanted until i came across this beuty. What can i say I fell in love with it, the sound was heavy n' clean, the neck was fast, the mohogany body was light, and an amazing vintage black finish to top it off. It was perfect! was pretty expensive but hey, it was worth every penny.
This guitar really is the best guitar i have ever played. it makes any amp you plug into sound heavier and more full than any other ive had the chance to play. i have had mine for over 6 years and it still has every bit of tone it had the day i bought it brand new. i play though a peavey 6505 plus head and marshall 412 cab and ive never had anyone who had heard it short of blown away. i have recorded multible times with it and every studio ive been to cant believe how perfect it sounds through the studio amps. so if you are the slightest interested in this guitar dont let anyone tell you different. buy it. for the price. you getter way more quality than your paying for. - Glenn Stowe
This is about the ESP - LTD EC1000 w/ Seymour Duncan pickups. I tried 3 other guitars before deciding on this one. I've owned it for 2 weeks. It beat the Epiphones I tried hands down, and gave a $2300 Gibson Les Paul a run for the money. The Les Paul might be better, but for 3 times the cost, no way! The tone is very detailed and beautiful clean. The finish is amazing. There is a beautiful binding around the neck and body that doesn't show up well in the picture. In person it looks amazing. I tried the EC256 also, and for the money it is also great, but the feel and look of the EC1000, not to mention the tone, won me over. It is not nearly as heavy as a Les Paul. You will need to set up the guitar. For some reason the string length adjustment was off on my guitar, but the other details of the setup were OK. Take advantage of Guitar Centers try it for 30 days. You wont' regret giving this guitar a try.
This guitar is amazing, its finish is perfect, it came perfectly setup, the action is low but no fretbuzz, i have read in other forums that the strings have to be changed for a good tone, I agree dont like the STI stings, the body is slim and its light you can get to the higher frets easy not like on a gibson les paul, and like other people say if your looking for a gibson les paul, get one and forget this one. The tone is great, those duncan really are versatile, you can get any tone you like with the passives, the neck is thin very nice to play. the guitar is more beautiful when you have in your hands some internet pictures dont look very good. so if your looking for a great guitar with passive pickups a great finish, great style, easy playability, low action great versatility you wont be wrong with this.
