Overview

Small in price, but big on tone, the ESP LTD B-104 Bass is a perfect bass guitar for someone looking for an interesting looking axe that is not too over-the-top. Fat, beveled edges accentuate the basswood body's curves. Combined with the elongated upper horn, deep cutaway of the much smaller lower horn, unique angular cut at the end of the fretboard, shapely headstock, and chrome hardware, the LDT B-104 bass exudes high-class style. But all that flair would be nothing if it didn't have a sound to match. Not to worry because it definitely delivers a mean punch with dual ESP SB-4 pickups and ESP ABQ-2 2-band active EQ. The B-104 also features a thin, bolt-on, U-shaped maple neck with rosewood fingerboard, 24 XJ frets, ESP tuners, and ESP DB-4 bridge.

Nice Guitar, But Not Quite Purple

By Jeff Whitlock

from Round Rock, TX

I am particular about my purples, and this bass is not quite purple (and not at all like the photo on this page). There is a bit too much red, leaving it more like a dark magenta. Don't get me wrong; it's a very attractive instrument; it's just not a true purple. Apart from that, I am very happy. It plays very smoothly and sounds great. The neck is thin and slick, and I even like the strings that came with it. The controls are different than I am used to with one volume and a pan between the pickups, rather than two separate volumes. That was not a problem once I figured out what they were. I did have some intonation and buzzing issues, but I took it back to Guitar Center and they corrected that for me at no charge.

An amazing bass

By Zero

from Sacramento, California

This bass plays as good as other basses that are three times as expensive. The bass has an amazing balance, and it feels like a natural extension of the player. This bass blasts down the walls with it's pickups. It has a great low and middle end, and a pretty good high end too. I reccomend this bass to all bassists. ESP produces some of the best stringed instruments, for some of the best prices for the quality.

Amazing bass for the price

By Adam

from Streetsboro, Ohio

I got this bass about a year ago. It was amazing. It plays beautifully and sounds good. Pickups give you a good sound for being stock. If I had a chance to get a different bass at the time I doubt I would. ESP makes some of the best gear out there
