I wanted a practice guitar to have a work that I wouldn't be heartbroken if it were stolen. Playability and tuning stability was really important to me, sound was not. I played all the guitars in my local GC in this price range but went home with this one. Tuning stability is good, thanks to decent tuners and the hardtail bridge. Action and intonation are great, although I raised the bridge slightly to eliminate some fret buzz around the third fret. Still, this plays as well or better than some of my more expensive older guitars.

Through a practice amp this thing sounds good and compares favorably to other guitars in this price range. At home I played through and a Mesa Mk V along with a Strat and Les Paul. In that context this guitar sounded cheap and sterile. The good news is that at gigging volumes the guitar doesn't squeal or otherwise underperform. Compared to the other guitars played unplugged, this also sounded fairly sterile, so I wouldn't buy this as a platform for nut/pickup upgrades. Maybe replacing the plastic nut and pickups would fix things, but by then you could probably just buy a better sounding guitar.

Other than that, it's really comfortable to play, feels rock-solid, and looks cool. This is a perfect practice/beginner guitar, especially if you want to play heavy rock or metal.

Comments about ESP EC10 Electric Guitar:

This is the best Guitar I have ever bought in this price range. I love everything on this guitar. Jumbo finished frets. no sharp edges. great paint job on the body and neck. The chrome is dark and cool. The neck on mine does not have the EC-10 at 12th fret, I like the 2 dots better. The set up is good enough to play the way I received it. I always try and make it better. The pickups are cool, the contour on the back of body is awesome. The tone, volume, and switch work great, even the plug hole does not feel cheap. Made in Vietnam. I thought for sure it would be China. Great Guitar.

Comments about ESP EC10 Electric Guitar:

I needed a guitar for the drop C stuff that I play and I saw this guitar and it was pretty cheap, I really like the EC models and when i saw this one well i decided to buy it. This guitar is a really outstanding guitar for the money that I paid for it. The pickups are really good for my standards since I play In drop C this guitar can handle the tuning and the tone is really solid. It feels that im playing a much more expensive one the quality is really amazing. I take this guitar out to gigs and it makes the nights go by smooth and easy. I cal it my most favorite and number one guitar better then the other ones I take its just a really good solid guitar. Overall this guitar will be a keeper later in the future ill swap out the pickups for better ones and maybe the tuners as well, but for right now im really happy that I bought this guitar I recommend it to everyone no matter what it is.

Great guitar for the money. Pickups could be better but good over all. Out of the box adjustments were terrible. I had to adjust just about everything on it. I think the store will help you set it up I don't know I had mine shipped. No problems with that either. Would recommend for sure

Comments about ESP EC10 Electric Guitar:

This guitar is a decent guitar for the price. The painted surface is rough, like little specks in the paint. Maybe it wasn't prepped really well before painting. It's easy enough to smooth it off with your fingernails, but I feel it should have been smoother from the factory.

The setup as it was received was horrible. Most of the strings buzzed in the 1st through 3rd frets, including a couple of dead ones. I took it back to Guitar Center and they were nice enough to adjust it for me. He had to adjust the action, and the truss rod, and even had to file a couple of burrs on the bridge and nut to get a string to stop sticking.

It plays much better after the adjustments, and now I'm satisfied with it to practice and jam on. Not sure I'll record with it, but it's easy enough to play.

I would only recommend getting this if you make sure the store sets it up for you, or else you might be discouraged.

Comments about ESP EC10 Electric Guitar:

Had 2- different guitars, First one tuned up right out of the box and checked over, First fret was completely dead on low E string and not good on subsequent strings either. this model was China made. Took it back and exchanged it for a Vietnam model they had on the wall, The salesman, Jake- was super helpful and even polished my new one up and reboxed it for me. The pickups in these are super for the price, Dark sounding, Hardware is good, Switch seems a little flimsy on the Vietnam one, But for the price point, NO complaints. Paint on the first guitar had a speck of dust or dirt in it right on the front upper bout, But the rest looked good, The Vietnam one has a speck spot on the back and the edge on upper bout towards the front has some lumpy spots(Dents) under the paint from the factory. All in all, The Vietnam one with the more blemishes, looks and plays GREAT!! It just feels RIGHT in my hands and the satin neck feels GREAT too!!Not to thick or thin. If you like the Goth model from a different brand ,You will LOVE this!!For metalheads or a beater stage guitar, You can't go wrong. If you get a good one!!!

Comments about ESP EC10 Electric Guitar:

Out of the box, the guitar was playable after tightening the input jack. That's about all you can expect from a guitar at this price point. Everything worked and no major disasters occurred. It would make a suitable first guitar, or a decent beater that you don't have to worry about.

That being said, you should expect put a little work (and money) into it if you want to get any real music out of it. The stock tuning machines and nut are garbage. The pickups aren't bad, but not particularly good either.

I bought my EC-10 on sale to use as a base for a project. I switched to a set of Duncan Invader pickups, Gotoh locking tuners, and a TUSQ Black XL nut. The original pots, cap, switch, and wiring are all working just fine for my needs. After that small investment, the EC-10 performs (and sounds) like a much more expensive instrument.

Don't expect a masterpiece for this price, but you can make it great for cheap.

Comments about ESP EC10 Electric Guitar:

I'll just come out and say it. I saw Metallica in Miami on their Hardwired tour and the white Iron cross that James Hetfield had was just too gorgeous not to look up. I was delighted to see that LTD offers a JH signature Iron Cross, but as a member of the working poor, I don't quite have $1000 to drop on an instrument I primarily use for practice and playing Rocksmith on Xbox One. I saw this EC-10 for $150 and it had the shape, the look and the affordable price that was close enough for me so I bought, slapped some pinstriping and an Iron cross car badge on their and got myself a budget JH. It rocks hard and feels great with the smooth satin finish, but my only complaint would be the fret ends arent' as smoothed down as they should be. They don't cut me or anything but if you grip the neck enough, you definitely feel the bite of sharp metal. Other than that, I would absolutely recommend this guitar to a beginner or experienced player alike. What's to lose? With that cost you can easily upgrade it with some Het Set pickups later on down the road anyway. Love this thing!

I purchased this guitar online. I was very pleased with the packaging of this guitar, the box was well padded.
This guitar played very good out of the box but I like my action very low so I made a few adjustments to make It perfect. I love the tuners, and the neck is slim with a great fret board. The finish on the body Is very flat
looking and the chrome hardware looks lush. The sound is decent leaning on the mellow side.
I'm thinking that this guitar will last a long time with many hours of enjoyment!

Other than that I decided to turn this into my project guitar adding better quality hardware and electronics for fun. It's good for beginners but if you are more experienced I would start looking at more mid range priced guitar than this unless you want a nice project guitar.

I'm definitely looking forward on a future purchase.
