Your choice of woods
Usually you'll have a choice of finishes, but with the ESP Xtone you have something deeper—an actually choice of tone woods. Apart from their dramatic difference in appearence, each exotic wood has its own sonic character.
Ovangkol has a deeper "more rosewood" type tone
Spalted maple is a bit warmer and not as bright as regular maple
Zebrawood creates a very nice full sound with dark overtones
Paduak is similar in tone to the best rosewood
Quilted ash produces produces strong mid tones with strong bright influences
Playability
The ESP Xtone has a comfortable body design and features a smooth cutaway for upper fretboard access. The thin U neck has a 25.5" scale and is easy to finger notes quickly with its extra jumbo frets.
Electronics
The onboard B-Band pickup/preamp system has the controls necessary to find your sound on stage and to help fight feedback. It features an active 3-band EQ, a chromatic tuner, and a handy feedback-busting phase switch.
