The ESP LTD Viper-50 Electric Guitar is all about playability. The dual ESP LH-150 pickups buck 60-cycle hum, making them much quieter than single-coil pickups and more powerful. The 24-3/4" scale is slightly shorter than many electric guitars, making for less string tension and easier play. The LTD Viper-50 guitar's basswood body and maple neck with rosewood fretboard promise superb stability and long life.

    I've had this guitar for 2 years. It's not given me any problems at all. Though the neck is a little heavier than the body, it's still a great buy. I'd suggest this guitar to anyone.

  • Pretty good

    Overall a good starter guitar. Low E has string buzz that I can't get rid of even with adjustments. Neck is a little slow for shredding and feels somewhat cheap (compared to my Japanese Squire Strat). Pickups are great for the price and you get a good deep metal tone even with light strings. Overall, good starter (bought for my son) but for intermediate or above don't bother.

  • Absolutely Fantastic

    I've been playing my Viper for almost a year now, and it is still a fantastic purchase. I absolutely adore this guitar. I've been able to hit amazing harmonics on a dirty channel, and clean, it's even more amazing. I play mine with a set of D'Addario Nickel 10s and they sing on this guitar in every tuning. E, E flat, D, D flat, Drop D, Drop C, and it even sounds amazing playing March of the Fire Ants. No matter what I put the guitar through -including accidently bumping and scraping it on everything in my house- it still sounds beautiful. It stays in tune pretty well. Complaints: Minor adjustments needed to the pickup height and bridge height. Not a particularly bad problem, really. However, natural degrading of the frets is a more serious issue. I've got a divot in my 9th, and a few of the frets 12 and above have some trouble... the note will just die, or at least piss out a little bit midway through a bend, most annoyingly on the 12th fret of the E string. But, that could probably be negated through professional maintenance, rather than the simple "wipe down the guitar every so often" that I do. I highly recommend this guitar if you have a low budget. Beginners, Intermediate players, whoever you are, this will serve your needs.
