Mine is a used model which I got 2 days ago from the North Attleboro, Mass. store. I'm a 53 year old guitarist who has been playing for 40 years and 2 years ago, I had a Fender MIM Standard Strat which was my baby, but unfortunately I had to sell it due to the economy. Since then, I had been stuck playing low cost, shoddy guitars, which IMO, were crap. When I saw this on the wall at the store, I decided to take a chance and try it out. Right away I was hooked and knew I was on to a winner. I took it home and gave it a good cleaning and restringing. I didn't have to do anything as far as the intonation was concerned, but I did have to do a slight truss rod adjustment, that was it. Once that was all done, the action was perfect with no fret buzz or tuning issues at all. This axe stays in tune for days and the stock LH-150 humbuckers sound great whether you're playing Metal, Classic Rock, or Blues. The neck is similar to that of a Gibson but, faster and the body weight adds a lot of sustain to the sound as well. I dare say, this surpasses my old MIM Fender Strat. I'm 100% happy with this and it's a keeper for sure !
Before i had received this guitar I actually had a real stratocaster. I had bought this guitar just to mess around with and didn't take it too seriously when buying, well it isn't as good as a strat but i liked it a lot. This guitar is actually way better than i expected. I actually play it more than my strat. This guitar is an excellent beginner guitar and it is worth the price.
I got this guitar a few weeks ago and i instantly fell in love with it. The finish is a nice glossy black with whats called a "quilted top" or something like that. The "Viper 100FM" inlay at the twelfth gives it a nice touch as well. I play worship for my church occasionally and the sound is pretty good. It's got a nice crunch with my foot pedal, so I'm satisfied. I only got good reactions when people saw it so, i guess that's a good thing. It is well worth the price and you won't be sorry you bought it.
