Designed by Slayer's own Angel of Death.

The ESP LTD JH-600 Jeff Hanneman Signature Guitar is a perfect electric guitar for playing heavier-than-heavy styles like Jeff's ferocious riffs. Neck-thru construction and an alder body give the LTD-JH-600 endless sustain. EMG active pickups give this guitar the output to blow walls down. The Kahler hybrid tremolo lets you dive-bomb screaming targets without losing tuning stability. This ESP Jeff Hanneman guitar also has a dark and deadly look with an ebony fretboard and black hardware. White H-dagger inlays and white neck and headstock binding accent the ESP LTD JH-600 guitar's black-on-blackness.

  • Amazing

As reviewed by bob on 4/23/2009

I've had this guitar for around 4 months now and its amazing. The finish is perfect, it stays in well nearly perfectly and is very sturdy. It sounds better than some of the guitars that cost over twice as much as it does. The EMGs need batteries because their active but they don't need to be replaced frequently like i thought they would. They'll last you around a month depending on how much you play. The Kahler is very easy to use and stays in tune great. A great guitar for the price.

This is great out of the box. It reminded me of my old USA Jackson Soloist from the late '80's. It is designed to play fast and loud. I was real impressed with the active EMG PuP's. It is my first time playing actives in 25 years of playing. VERY high output and scooped, but not suited to untreated clean tones, but that's why I own a Strat and an ES-335. If playing clean intro's and breaks with the JH-600, throw on some chorus and delay to spice it up. The quality of this guitar is as good as any recent Gibson (see recent QC issues) or any USA made guitar. I have always enjoyed higher end Korean made at this price level. This plays and feels like a higher end guitar. I think getting caught up in the USA mystique is overrated. Always loved Kahlers as you can mute and not play sharp as on a floating bridge like a Floyd, as only the back part of a Kahler moves. It feels a lot like a standard Les Paul type bridge. Also no cavity cut out on the back so you get better tone, less wood removed. Grover tuners are refreshing. The deal breaker for me is the bound Ebony board. VERY hard to find anymore. Gibson won't and can't use it and Jackson and B.C.Rich are the only other companies who use it on affordable guitars. Ebony is just better for shredders than Rosewood, which is softer and has a more grainy feel than even Maple. Love the H with daggers inlays. I keep hearing in reviews that the volume knob is misplaced, but this is an easy hand adjustment to make and to me a non-issue.

  • For more than just Slayer fans

As reviewed by JEFF on 4/18/2015

Very solid guitar to add to your arsenal. After reading the other reviews, I had to comment. Look, I have only purchased 1 Electric guitar in my life (Line6 J. T. Variax)that did NOT need a setup by a great guitar luthier. So, PLAN on it. Once done, the action was nice and low, NO fret buzz, was in tune all over the neck, stayed in tune and the tremolo bar was the easiest and sweetest non female thing I ever put my hands around. Sounds Very good but make sure you do it justice by running it through a high end tube amp like a Mesa, EVH, Blackstar, etc. with great quality cabs. It will then HIT REAL HARD and sound GREAT. It will even play most types of music well. However, Metal, Hard Rock, Rock, Pop, Soundtrack and Blues are probably the maximum practical style radius for it. Lastly, I love the EMG active pickups, 24 fret neck and the fact it is black. (is black over done? yes, still cool? YES)And so is this guitar. RIP Mr. Hanneman!
