A carved maple top and EMG pickups give you beauty in looks and tone.

The ESP LTD Deluxe MH-1000 electric guitar features a set-thru 3-piece maple neck, mahogany body with gorgeous carved maple top, and a rosewood fretboard. The thin, U-shaped neck with 24 extra jumbo frets provides comfort and speed. An EMG-81 humbucker at the bridge and an 85 at the neck provide plenty of power and note definition. Grover tuners and an FR locking nut keep you tuned and intoned, so you'll sound your best. Volume, tone and a 3-way toggle give you options with simplicity. Genuine Floyd Rose bridge let you dive bomb the night away. Black hardware, offset abalone block inlays and white with abalone purfling finish off a great look.

Set-thru neck construction is an innovative technique in which the neck is glued to the body (like a set neck), however the traditional bulky heel is carved away (similar to neck-thru-body construction). This makes access to the ESP MH-1000's upper frets and the neck-to-body transition much smoother. Just as on a set neck, you will get a combination of tone from both the neck and body with the set-thru construction. The sound will depend on the types of wood used, but generally will have a fuller, warmer tone when compared to most neck-thru-body electric guitars.

Case sold separately.

Out of the box. Slung over my back. This guitar has proven itself within the first hour of play. Came straight from the factory, in tune and set up perfect. This guitar is well worth the money. No buyers remorse. It offers a great sound and doesn't sacrifice any punch when it comes to throwing it into overdrive. The cleans are perfect and depending on how set up your controls it will let you manipulate it in to doing whatever you want. Kick on the distortion and you're gonna hit ever natural and artificial harmonic known to man. the sustain is top notch. Bottom line, this guitar is where it's at.

  • Well Made and worth the money!

As reviewed by Roger Gordon on 2/28/2012

I bought the black cherry version and I have to say...very very well pleased. I bought this guitar several days ago and am still awestruck with how well it plays and the beauty of it. The finish and overall look of this guitar is stunning. Very sharp and very well crafted. Emg pickups - when I first began playing this guitar I noticed that the pickups are very full sounding. Much fuller than ordinary passive pickups. These pickups are designed to be very high output...so you can literally do harmonics on nearly every fret with great ease. Clean tone sounds great on these pickups too...so don't let the "emg" pickups fool you. The neck pickup, emg 85, has a very thick full tone. While the 81 has a thinner, full tone. Distortion sounds amazing on this guitar...any distortion with high gain. The Grover tuners on this guitar blew me away, simply because how smooth they turn...you can tell they are high quality just by turning them. Floyd Rose Trem is A+ without a doubt and the look of the trem is amazing as well and will stay in tune with no problems. The Trem has a dark chrome finish...different but it fits the guitar well. You can dive bomb easily and there's no tuning problems that I've noticed at all. The neck is thin not ultra thin like the M-1000 but it is still thin enough to shred and solo to your hearts content. Overall, This guitar is worth much more than what the asking price is. If I have any cons with this guitar, it's the painted neck and the Fret Bars (The bars that distinguish fret from fret). I am not used to painted necks. At first glance I was a little dismayed and worried that it would slow my playing. You get used to it quickly and in my opinion helps my playing and is faster. The Fretting on the guitar, as mentioned above, is taller than what I'm used to. This may be because it's a new guitar but I also got used to this fact rapidly as well. The strings are very close to the fretboard and this helps tremendously. On standard Bridges, the Strings are usually much higher off the neck....which is what I'm used to. One last thing to note...the intonation was spot on right out of the box and already in tune. Packing was great as well! So either way, almost no cons, very well constructed and beautiful...a very very satisfied buyer!

I ordered this guitar on the 25th of January. I received it on the 25th of February. It was worth the wait. This guitar came straight from the factory. It was setup perfect and perfectly in tune. intonation was spot on as well. I literally have 0 complaints about this instrument. The quality is flawless. The 81-85 set up is a dream and offers a HUGE bass boost when selecting the neck pickup. This guitar sounds perfect with a metal zone. The neck is incredibly fast as well. And last but not least the guitar just looks great.
