• Great guitar but room for improvement

  This guitar has perfect tone! The playability is only average. what i love about the playability is the short scale making the strings perfectly tense but not too tense in drop c with ernie ball beefy slinkeys. the only two bad aspects of the playability are that the floyd tends to go just a little bit out of tune if you go crazy on it, and the frets are very buzzy unless you set the action kinda undesireably high. the fret buzz issue is prevalent with most if not every EC-1000, i own the FR and have played two others that are not the FR and they all have either fret buzz or a high action. If you have the money to get all the frets leveled and dressed or replaced you can make this THE PERFECT GUITAR for anyone who uses the floyd rose lightly to moderately. The sound/tone on this guitar is absolutely professional, I would recommend buying this guitar and getting the frets done or just saving up and getting the ESP eclipse or eclipse fr, this guitar and the actuall eclipse sound exactly the same, Excellent, but the eclipse has better playability unless you get the frets on the LTD ec-1000 redone so you can have a lower action.

• GREAT GUITAR BUT LIMITED SOUND

  I recently bought this guitar from my local Guitar Center. I got a great deal because they price matched from musiciansfriend.com and I saved 21%. So, I paid around $850 tax included, brand new. You can do the same if you do some research online. The guitar looks awesome. It has abalone inlay throughout the body, neck, and headstock. The see-thru black looks more like a gray. You can see all of the woodgrain through the clear coat. It is very nice. The guitar came with a very good set-up right out of the box. It was pretty much in tune, only needed some fine-turning. The action was set low and the neck is very fast. This guitar is very light weight and thin. The Floyd Rose stays in tune VERY WELL. I read some other reviews that said it did not stay in tune. This one does. I wailed on it about 30 times with the bar to the body of the guitar. It only needed some fine tuning. It was still playable and sounded ok. This guitar delivers on what it is designed to do. That is, play hard rock or metal. My main guitar is a Fender USA Strat with a modified Seymour Duncan Hotrails on the bridge pickup. This ESP guitar is not nearly as versatile as a Fender Strat. That is the only negative thing that I could say about it. It does have some nice clean tones and the dirty tones are mindblowing. I suggest plugging into a low input if you have one on your amp to cut down on the bite if you are playing anything less than metal. The pick-up switch doesn't make much of a difference in the tones whether you are playing clean or dirty. Overall, this guitar is a great piece and I would highly recommend it for anyone interested in playing music on the heavy side.

• Worth Every Dollar

  I had been saving up money for around 2-3 years, I was looking for a Gibson Les Paul Studio, but i tried out this one... I must say I was impressed and I decided to continue saving up for this guitar, to me it blew the gibson out of the water... It is very light, the neck is very comfortable, it is worth every dollar, the EMG's just get every sound I want, even clean... if you want a real good guitar, buy this one, you wont regret it, it has made me play around 8 hours or 9 in a day and no, I dont get bored, it is just plain beauty
