Many people refer to guitars as "axes", and in the case of the AX-54, it really brings the metaphor to life. This ESP LTD bass was designed with extreme curves and pointed ends on the body, beveled side edges, and seemingly razor sharp hooks on it's double cutaway horns. By the looks of it, this electric bass guitar would be just as effective on a medieval battlefield as it would be in a Battle of the Bands.
This short-scale (32") model is made of basswood, and has a thin, "U"-contoured maple neck with rosewood fingerboard. Despite it's lightweight body, you won't lose the tone or the low-end thunder you desire thanks to an ESP SB-4 pickup with ATB-1 active tone boost circuit. Other features include a sturdy, bolt-on construction, DB-4 adjustable bridge, chrome hardware, 24 XJ frets, and a 40mm standard nut.

Sure, this bass may look a little outrageous in some aspects, it sure is mean. From the moment I picked this bad-boy up I knew I'd be having quite a bit of fun. It weighs in at about 7 or 8 pounds, so I recommend grabbing a comfortable strap. Also, I purchased the Fender 'Rumble 15' amplifier with this bass. These two items are both the 'babies' of their respective families. They are great starting items and will instantly put a smile on your face. The black satin finish looks more matte black, but it's still eye catching. The chrome hardware really sticks out as well. It just came in today and I noticed no defects or problems. It comes with a master volume knob, and a treble knob (to ultimately give that 'bass' feeling). I've been slapping this baby for 5 hours straight, and nothing has changed. It has retained the original out-of-the-box appearance, but the sound has grown. At 1/4 volume, this thing is still shaking the house. An overall great buy for at home use or small gigs.
I am looking to buy a decent bass and I stumbled upon this. I was just wondering if anyone knows how this compares to the AX-104?
