Availability:

Huge humbucking tone, easy-play scale length, and sharp looks with a tiny price tag.

The ESP EC-50 Electric Guitar is one of the best values in a serious, hard-rocking electric guitar. The EC-50 sports a pair of ESP LH-150 pickups that generate super sustained distortion. Maple neck with rosewood fretboard on a basswood body provides great resonance while the shorter 24-3/4" scale makes note bending a breeze.

  • awesome for new players and at a low price!

I have played and owned this guitar for 2 years now. This guitar definitely isn't pro level, but not bad for the money. I love the neck on it very easy to play and comfortable. reaching higher up on the frets can be a bit of a bear, but that's ok by me because I don't use them really anyway. Other positives: good sustain, no fret buzz(you might have to mess with the action a little), and the pickups aren't half bad. The bridge is great for heavier rock/metal tones. the Split middle position will give you more of the twangy sounds. The neck position has nice smooth tones, and really brings out the characteristics of the wood. The biggest problem I have with this guitar is the body. It's pretty heavy for being made with basswood, and the back of the guitar doesn't feel very good against my chest. In my personal experience, the strap button by the neck completely came out on me whilst holding it. Luckily it didn't fall to the ground. I think this was partly due to the cheap plastic strap locks I bought that just go over the regular strap buttons. So I tossed those, split a match, stuck it in there, put the screw back in and all is well. If you are a new player and don't really know anything about guitars, this will be a good match for you, and it won't break the bank! 5 stars for low price and being a pretty solid guitar for your first.

  • Amazing Guitar

As reviewed by Cheese on 5/13/2011

This is an excellent buy for the money. It sounds great and looks superb (especially the tobacco sunburst). I did need to change the first strings, but then I thought that might happen. I have owned this product for about a year and it is still my favorite. The quality is great and it has held up to being dropped and bumped against walls was amazingly. This feels great and its not to heavy yet not to light. The awesome color has remained the same as always.

This guitar is a great value. THE pickups are great, great tone and sustain. The action was a little to high but once lowered it is fantastic. I love the finish on the guitar, mine has the beautiful sparkling red finish, which looks alsome under lights. I love this guitar more every day.
