Overview

The H4A uses an Alnico 5 magnet for a pronounced mid-range and fat top end. With plenty of punchy tone, it's perfect in the bridge position for the player who wants to rock. The H4A is the perfect guitar pickup for blues or in combination with the H4 pickup, as is used on Epiphone's Zakk Wylde "Bullseye" Guitar. All HZ Pickups have EMG's exclusive 5-wire Quik-Connect output allowing any number of wiring combinations, and are fully shielded for a minimum of noise. String grounding is recommended to further decrease noise.

Guitar Center has not failed me so far

By Zachary Hall

from Bremerton, WA

I installed the HZ H4A in the neck and the H4 in the bridge position in my Ibanez RG 2EX2 and let me tell you guys this. HUGE DIFFERENCE. The tone was much clear and the harmonics screamed perfectly. These Pickups are an excellent way to make your guitar a wonderful experience. These came as a Solder less project meaning they give you a new rebuild. I was very satisfied. The only thing you have to solder is the switch to change the pickups If I could, id give Guitar center 6 stars. This was so easy. I don't have experience in guitar electronics but the directions made this an easy project and a very successful one as well.

These are the bomb!

By Vince Holt

from Lewisville, TX

I put these on my Randy Rhoads RR-1 because I didn't like the Jacksons it came stock with. Had a little trouble extending the output cable because the one the pups came with is too short. The RR has an output jack that's pretty high up, but after getting past that snag, WOW! These things are whisper quiet with any patch from my pedal and can carry any sound you want. Put it on the Ozzy patch and it sounds like Randy's vintage sound. The wiring harnesses come with solder-less connections and they are cool. Just watch the little arrown on top and make it's on Pin 1 of the controls that are supplied with the pickups. The only thing that needed to be soldered was on the 3-way switch and then put them into place on the junction box that EMG provides and you're done. I'd recommend these to anyone and you actually can do-it-yourself upgrade on your guitar.

Its pretty much there

By Torrey

from San Diego Califronia

These came stock on my epiphone zakk wylde custom les paul and they sound good. Handles distortion well with good lows and highs and VERY good cleans is what by far impresses me. Not the best for rock like led zeppelin or metal like metallica which is what i like to play but better if you are into the megadeth or pantera or slayer kinda sound. Still make any kind of music sound great, i recently saw a ska band using these pickups. Theses are probably the best metal pickups on the market and suprisingly have great cleans.

Great, Awesome, And some other good name

By Michael

from Wapato,WA

These emg pick ups are the first pick ups i ever tried out and not the last, thats for sure. I put these bad S,O,Bs on the bridge of my Xcort X-2 series gutar and man these things are like viagra for the guitar, the sound was "enhanced"!!! these things are great and the quality is good because i was suprised by the sustain on it and the clarity. EMG pick was made for metal and pretty much nothing else. I recommend these for show!!!

Awesome Pickups

By Bryan

from Chino,CA

So i just installed this emg pickup in my LTD m-10 and my guitar explodes! I decided to place it on the bridge to give it a good rhythm sound. It is loaded with distortion, in other words, you will love it. I play through a Peavey Vypyr 30watt amp and it just sounds sick. My LTD has never sounded better.

its good

By kurt

from morristown

well i bought this pickup about 2weeks ago and it was a smart buy. its got great clarity and sustain. Its got all the power of a regular emg and played by many other players such as Alexi Laiho and Zakk Wylde. my Only problem with it is that u CAN NOT touch it or else it makes a terrible buzzing noise, and beleive me its annoying. However its still a great pickup but if u have an active guitar stick with it.

A great sounding pickup with the EMG looks!

By Forde Ripich

from Ohio

After about a year, the bridge pickup on my Epiphone Les Paul started to sound muddy, and I wanted to replace it. I liked the look of EMG pickups but didnt need the active performance. This pickup was the perfect medium. The first time I played it, I knew I had gotten my money's worth. It sounded 100 times better than my stock pickups ever would. It had much more clarity without distortion and gives a powerful crunch with it. The ultimate passive pickup!

Amazing sound for a decent price

By Evan

from Fort Collins, CO

EMG pickups are some of the best I have ever played on. If you want range with your sound, the EMG H4A is the way to go without a doubt. Gibson cost more, but you're paying for the brand name. If you want a quality item that will not let you down, purchase this pickup. It's perfect for any style of music, especially rock and is durable. So it will last you many an rambunctious crowd while you give them what they want to hear. It's a quality item!!!
