Great Pickup Combination

Comments about EMG 81X/60X Custom Humbucker Set:

I have been using the 81X Bridge/60X Neck combination For five years. This duo is very articulate and compliment each other's tones. Play fast, slow, heavy distortion or clean the sound is beautiful and clear. I have played them through many different types of amps without disappointment. The improved preamp on the X series gives a much wider range of tones that can be dialed in. I have been able to create very bright tones that borderline the pointy over trebled harmonics that Dimebag made popular, the warm and sweet lead tones of Slash and a clean that rings with a deep tone. I prefer to use slightly heavier strings (Ernie Ball Power Slinky) but, I have also used them with regular slinky strings. Their is no difference in tone just a thinner or fuller sound with different strings. If you want to see how amazing these pickups can be then run them through a tube rectifier and tube power section. It is an amazing sound.
