Comments about EMG 57-B Humbucker Guitar Bridge Pickup:

I replaced an EMG 81 that was in the Bridge position in my 2010 Gibson Les Paul Traditional Pro. It seems a little more powerful than the 81, much more definition, pick attack and picking clarity. It sounds like they combined an 81 with a Gibson 57 Classic. Yes, it literally sounds that good!

This pickup is at home in the Melodic Death Metal, Swedish Death Metal, Metalcore, Hardcore Metal and Viking Metal genres! Don't waste your money on the trendy pickups that the famous youtube reviewers demo on their channels. Hype and trends don't make a great pickup sound amazing!

Comments about EMG 57-B Humbucker Guitar Bridge Pickup:

Ive been trying out all sorts of pickups both passive and active. The 57 is amazing for all sorts of applications, but I mainly use it for metal, great response, aggressive punch, harmonics are even better than the 81, clean tones don't break up, its a great pick up all around.

        Missed on the wide spacing

Comments about EMG 57-B Humbucker Guitar Bridge Pickup:

Love the sound great pickup. However if you install this in a wide spaced guitar Fender PRS etc. The pole pieces will not line up correctly on the low E string. This leads to a lack on responsiveness and drop in volume on that string.

Comments about EMG 57-B Humbucker Guitar Bridge Pickup:

My review will be pretty limited. I used this to replace an EMG 81 in the bridge of my gibson sg. I use this position for metal. My EVH 5153 mini stack does not have a lot of booming bottom end, and my 81 sounded thin on this amp compared to other pickups. My experience refers to heavy riffing under high gain on channel 3. The 57 was a plug n play swap, and was instantly recognizably different. Much more testicular fortitude, yet retains the compressed tone and quick attack that emgs do so naturally.

My take in short, it sounds like an 81 with beef added. Exactly what I was looking for.

            Best of both worlds

Comments about EMG 57-B Humbucker Guitar Bridge Pickup:

This pickup is simply amazing, and sound as good as they look. all the clarity and tone of a passive, with all of the head room and punch of an active. I play metal with my 57, and so do great metal players like Andy James and Richie Faulkner, but these are perfect for any genre because of the diversity of tones available to a pickup that is both active and passive. Truly a modern classic.
