The bridge pickup of choice for leading manufacturers.

The H4 is the equivalent of EMG's 81 Active Pickup without the "active" that uses two "bar" loaded coils for "balls to the walls" tone. All HZ Pickups have EMG's exclusive 5-wire quik-connect output allowing any number of wiring combinations, and are fully shielded for a minimum of noise. String grounding is recommended to further decrease noise.

  • Screaming Pickups

I have a Schecter Damien FR guitar that came with the HZ's pre-installed, it has the H4A in the neck and the H4 in the bridge. They have great output, the cleans ring and sing, and the best part...the dirt is crunchy, sustain is great and harmonics scream.

  • Good pickups

Contrary to popular belief, these pickups aren't all that bad. They are overshadowed by their active counterpart, and often passed off as low quality pickups. This is all wrong, as the EMG H4 pickups are moderately high output pickups, and give a less sterile sound than EMG 81's. They are a little pricey, but if you prefer the unique tone of these (sounds like alexi laiho of children of bodom) then it is worth the cost.

i am planning on buying a jackson rr3 and i'm going to replace the pickups with one of these and a dimebucker. this thing is friggin sweet man, and it is really heavy. although, i would suggest putting this for the neck pickup and if u are going to buy a dimebucker, set that one for the bridge pickup
