EMG H2A Vintage Hot Passive Humbucker (308003)
Availability:

The H2A is EMG's prototypical humbucker. The Alnico V magnet adds plenty of fat low-end for a nice punchy tone, perfect for the bridge position for any rhythm and blues player. All HZ Pickups have EMG's exclusive 5-wire quik-connect output allowing any number of wiring combinations, and are fully shielded for a minimum of noise. String grounding is recommended to further decrease noise.

  • EMG not just for metal

As reviewed by Dave Davis on 1/15/2011

This pickup is the most vintage passive HB Emg puts out. It replaced a Duncan 59 set in the neck position a mahogany superstrat that while clear sounding was kind of dry. The H2A retains the clarity of the 59 but has a sweeter sound. I enjoy playing clean and lingering on notes and jazzy chords with this one. The distortion is also nice and full of grind and harmonics but suited more to classic rock. It also seems to blend well with the sleightly higher output EMG H4 I have in the bridge. EMG are obviously expanding the range of pickups offered and the H2A caters to those who play jazz, blues and classic rock. They even have adjustable polepieces.
