The H2 Pickup is EMG's "hot-rodded" humbucking pickup. It features vintage wound coils with a ceramic magnet. This pickup is a favorite because it has the power of ceramic in a vintage design. All HZ Pickups have EMG's exclusive 5-wire quik-connect output allowing any number of wiring combinations, and are fully shielded for a minimum of noise. String grounding is recommended to further decrease noise.

  • More than Metal

As reviewed by Trent Valentine on 4/20/2010

EMG pickups are pretty commonly known for being used in metal. No one really mentions them being used for anything else though. I got this pickup for the neck position of my LTD, because I read that it could do blues. It did not disappoint. It provides a really nice contrast to my EMG H4 in the bridge. The tone is warm, and, well, bluesy. It sounds much better than the H4 clean, and is an awesome addition to a guitar if you want tonal variety but still want to use EMG's.

  • GREAT Sounding

As reviewed by Ken on 1/3/2008

Although EMGs aren't known for their passive pick-ups, these should not be looked past. I have these in both the Neck and Bridge position. For the neck, it delivers quite a good blues tone. For the bridge, it delivers a good vintage tone. I have them installed in my Ibanez AXS32, and they look as good as they sound.
