EMG EMG-SA Single Coil Active Guitar Pickup Set (301514)
Availability:

The EMG-SA pickup combines the attributes of the early Strat sound but with an added midrange response and higher output, giving it bell-like ringing harmonics and increased sustain. One single Alnico bar magnet delivers classic overdrive with a smooth midrange distortion, while still retaining the familiar high end of a single-coil pickup. These characteristics provide greater versatility than what is normally found in single-coil pickups. The internal preamp rejects every bit of hum and buzz for noiseless operation. This is EMG's most popular pickup for Stratocaster-type guitars.

  • HOT PICKUPS!

As reviewed by Raymond Keshel on 9/20/2011

These picksups are hot! I love the mids. Turn your amp's gain all the way and listen to these suckers purr. I recommend to anyone wanting to get a different sound but have that same strat sound if they want.

  • Great Pups

As reviewed by Ben on 6/26/2008

I have this things loaded in my strat with a SPC and EXG ,which replace the tone pots but that isnt a problem if you know how to work an EQ. They sound great, with expanded mids. The strat tone is still there with a beef up in sound. They are louder and have a lower magnetism. You might have to mess with the neck or bridge to accomedate for the low magnetism, but that means longer sustain on part of less pull on the strings.
